Scorpio (24 October – 21 November)
The big news as April begins is the Lunar Eclipse that takes place on the 4th, over the Easter weekend.
Eclipses tend to be shadowy and their themes are hidden and this is even more the case for you because during the eclipse the Moon is in Libra, the sign before your own.
Libra rules the part of your chart that’s about secrets, confidences, private matters; this can be a time when you need and want more solitude and you’re ready to listen to your inner voice for insight and guidance.
If you get a chance to kick back, slow down your schedule and take a few days out over Easter, go for it. You might find you’re more than ready to recharge the batteries before you plug back in.
Yet for some this eclipse might prove more dramatic as the opposite end of the spectrum to Libra is Aries and this is the sign that rules your work, your everyday lifestyle and your health. It’s about how you do things on a day-to-day basis, what works and what doesn’t work for you, plus there’s a a reminder here that happiness is holistic and you work best when you’re looking after your mind, body and soul.
You might be on the verge of change as April begins, you might be ready to ditch the day job and go freelance, you might be fearful that work or a contract is coming to an end, you might be aware that you’ve not been looking after yourself as well as you could. There is a theme of doing things differently because the Lunar Eclipse on the 4th links in to the Uranus-Pluto square which last took place on March 17th.
This is another reason why the knob of life might be turned up to urgent or dramatic over Easter. We know by now that the Uranus-Pluto square is about letting go; it’s about decluttering, detoxing and getting rid of the stuff that no longer supports you in life. Plus once you start to declutter emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, magic can happen because you free up space for new energy to come in.
This is important as the one planet that’s in super supportive mode in early April is Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, and Jupiter is currently in Leo, the sign at the peak of your chart, ruling your career and your vocation, your status and reputation. Even if you feel unsettled or unsure over the Easter weekend, you might sense that you’re on the verge of something big and you’re almost ready to let go and fly. Same goes if you sense that you’re letting go of security, a regular job or income. It feels scary and yet you know that if you trust and have faith, great things can happen.
The Sun teams up in a stunning trine aspect with Jupiter on the 2nd; Mercury and Jupiter connect in fire signs on the 6th and on the 8th, Jupiter turns direct in the heavens. This means that Jupiter is full steam ahead in your career sector from the 8th until August 2015. The blocks are off, the lights are green and this is your opportunity to play big, break free and do whatever you want to do to follow your true vocation.
It’s not an easy planetary configuration over Easter but it does feel that if you come through a soul-searching or introspective time, once you’re out the other side greatness is on the way. Be bold, be courageous, be true to who you are.
Two other key dates to note are the 10th when the Sun and Mercury come together in Aries, perfect for a meeting, interview or consultation, and the 18th when there’s a New Moon in Aries. A New Moon symbolises new beginnings and the chance to make a fresh start. If you’re looking for work or a new contract or you want to improve your health, this is the perfect day to set your intentions.
April is an important month for relationships, both personal and professional, as there are key planets in your opposite sign of Taurus. As April begins the relationship planets Venus and Mars are both in Taurus, and if you’re in a relationship or in any working partnership, this is a sign to seek out common ground. Slow down the pace of love or partnership and work at things steadily. Make sure you’re on the same track and singing from the same hymn sheet.
Venus only remains in Taurus until the 11th but Mars is in Taurus throughout April. Mars in your relationship sector feels urgent and not always in a good way. Mars isn’t at ease in this earth sign because Mars wants action and fast whereas in Taurus, this is a more plodding energy. You might feel frustrated at times within your relationship or with a certain partner in your life and even though you want to push things through fast, you can’t.
So slow down instead and savour the experience. Mars is helped along the way by supportive aspects to Neptune (romance) on the 12th and your modern ruler, Pluto, on the 21st. In fact the 21st and 22nd of the month are a powerhouse combination when it comes to talking your talk.
Mars and Pluto together often work in a magical way for you and they can truly be transformative. With Pluto in your communication sector and Mars in your relationship sector, this feels a powerful time for an important conversation that can potentially change the direction of your life.
Mercury (communication) and the Sun (identity, creative essence) join Mars in Taurus on the 14th and 20th respectively so this backs up the theme of working in partnership and finding a way to join with others on a 1-to-1 basis which enhances your life personally and professionally.
Finally, money matters are highlighted when Venus enters Gemini on the 11th and it’s important to ensure that you deal with your finances or a joint cash situation whilst the going’s good. If you leave it too long, you might find that negotiations drag on or you can’t get as good a deal as you can now. The 22nd and the weekend of the 25th/26th look lively for money and work especially when you use your contacts and schmooze someone influential.
