Scorpio (24 October-21 November)
There’s a lot going on this month and some of you may find that at times you’re frantically busy. A lot of this has to do with the fact that throughout the month there are three key planets in Aries, the sign that rules your work, your routine and lifestyle and your health.
The Sun is in Aries until the 20th, Mercury (communication) is there from the 7th-23rd and Uranus (change) is currently a permanent feature in this part of your chart. It’s a lively, buzzing energy but it doesn’t make for smooth progress or a laid-back lifestyle. It is good, however, for new and innovative ideas, using the internet and technology to good effect and keeping one step ahead of the pack.
However, this month, Aries is one of the signs involved in the Cardinal Grand Cross that dominates the heavens. In brief, a Grand Cross aspect pattern involves four signs squaring up to one another so different people with different agendas and a sense that you can do one thing but you can’t do the other. The cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, the leaders of the zodiac, and this is an initiating and dynamic energy.
The Grand Cross is at its peak over the Easter weekend and especially powerful for you the following week on the 22nd-23rd when Mars, your ruling planet, is caught up in the action.
What’s important about Mars is that it’s currently retrograde or on go slow in Libra, the sign that’s before your own sign of Scorpio in the heavens. So Mars is hidden away and can’t be as effective as usual. Take care if you sense that you’re repressing your emotions or your anger and be aware that you may also change your mind with regard to a major decision. Mars is retrograde until late May so try and go with the flow as best you can until then and take good self-care. You need to look after yourself when Mars, the planet of action and energy, isn’t at full speed.
For some, this indicates that this busy Aries period may not be about too much work but not enough work and feeling frantic about finding work. Again pace yourself and remember the importance of slowing down and trusting in life too.
For some, this is a time when you’re questioning your life view and you find that your principles or beliefs are shifting. If you’re off work over the Easter weekend, this is a potentially soul-searching period when you’re asking yourself what life’s all about, where you’re heading and why. Use this time constructively to explore life to the full, whether you travel or take a trip away to gain a fresh perspective on your situation or you sign up to a course or read a book that inspires you.
It’s important to protect yourself against negativity, either your own negative mind talk or spending too much time around people who bring you down and make you feel shitty. Hold the faith and be positive, especially if your current work or health situation is unstable. The Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse on the 15th cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of your chart and highlights these same areas. Check back to October 18th 2013 when there was a similar eclipse in the heavens as this might give you some clues as to what you can expect this time around and what might help you move forward.
The key to all this activity is to be willing to be flexible and to try and work alongside others and find a common agenda or meeting ground. Avoid conflict especially if it’s not constructive and choose your battles wisely. Stand up for your rights in a work situation but don’t start an argument for the sake of it. Plus, if you’re aware that you keep doing the same thing over and over and creating the same results, here’s a chance to do things differently. It may take a big leap of faith but by the last week of April, you’ll see your way forward more clearly.
One area of your life that looks especially lovely now is romance. Venus, Goddess of Love, enters Pisces and your romance sector on the 5th and Venus is exalted in this sign. It’s kind, gentle and deeply romantic. Plus Venus makes only helpful aspects throughout the month and travelling with a loved one or expanding your life experience draws you closer together. You may be able to turn to your other half now to be the stronger of the two and to support you both through a more unstable patch.
The Sun enters Taurus and your relationship sector on the 20th closely followed by Mercury (communication) on the 23rd and the last week of the month focuses closely on your 1-to-1’s. The New Moon or Solar Eclipse in Taurus on the 29th paves the way for a fresh start in love and is a powerful turning point. Eclipses are commit-or-quit events and a chance to sweep out the old and allow in the new.
This event coupled with Venus in Pisces feels definitive for love, plus it suggests that reaching out to others can be extremely helpful to you whilst your ruler Mars is depleted in energy. Don’t feel you have to go it alone but ask for support and help when you need it most.
