Scorpio (24 October – 22 November)
The most important planetary factor for you this July is your traditional ruling planet Mars retrograde. Mars is now on go slow and remains in retreat until August 27th. This brings with it a change in pace and it’s not the time to be initiating new beginnings.
Instead, conserve your energy, notice your motivational levels and turn your attention inwards. Mars is currently in Aquarius, the star sign at the base of your horoscope, ruling your home and family, your past, your roots and where you come from.
When Mars turned retrograde at the end of June, you may already have experienced a slowing down in one of these areas of your life. Or perhaps you have a lot to contemplate and think about over the next couple of months as you’re in this transitional phase.
Your gaze is on the past with Mars retreating through Aquarius but you also need to lift your head and look at where you’re heading and why. This is because, at the opposite side of the zodiac, there’s considerable planetary activity.
Communication planet Mercury is in Leo and, until the 10th, the planet of relating, Venus, is in Leo. Plus, the Sun enters the fire sign Leo on the 22nd. Leo rules your career and vocation, your future goals. If you’re feeling unsure about the future, it’s really important to talk a lot about what next. Seek out people who can help you, get some coaching, use your networks and gather ideas.
For some Scorpio individuals, this will be a time when you’re considering what next and change is on the cards. The main planetary indicator of this is the Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse which takes place on the 27th and cuts across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac.
This pits work and career against home and family. This axis dominates the foundations of your chart, where you’re from and your past and where you’re heading and your future. Look out for signals, a turning point, a chance to do things differently that appear on or around the eclipse.
Know too that this could come about in a way that’s dramatic or even difficult. It might be an out-and-out conflict which generates new ideas or finding that one door shuts only for another door to open. Your ruler Mars is caught up in the eclipse activity, so events could happen suddenly.
Eclipses bring what’s hidden to light so it’s important to be on the ball and stay one step ahead of the game Try and predict what might happen during the eclipse period and where change is likely with regard to your home and family, your work and career. A new job might mean changes at home or a decision to move could be the catalyst with regard to career changes. Your partner could also be involved in some way.
Plus, one day before the Eclipse, on the 26th, Mercury turns retrograde in Leo in your future sector and remains on go slow until August 19th. This is another indicator that you have to change tack and do things differently. When in doubt, think outside of the box.
Also, there’s another planetary factor in play this month and this is the Sun’s move through Cancer until the 22nd. Cancer rules travel and study in your horoscope and whatever activity broadens your horizons.
Plus, from the 5th to the 8th, there’s a Grand Water Trine taking place between the Sun in Cancer, Jupiter in your star sign Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. This creates a wave of emotion and it’s potentially enjoyable and pleasurable. Go wherever life leads you at this time, allow yourself to be lead astray.
This whole planetary combination feels inspirational and, as a Sun Scorpio, you need to find your deeper purpose in life. If you lose your way, get back in touch with what inspires you, know what you love and do more of it.
On the 10th, big planet Jupiter turns direct in your star sign, Scorpio. Therefore, even if life feels chaotic or you’re stepping into the unknown, you have the protective planet on your side. Jupiter brings promise and good fortune. It may be that what transpires early in the month is worth following and is perhaps the reason why change is imminent.
Three days later and there’s a New Moon or Solar Eclipse in Cancer on the 13th, which starts a new eclipse cycle that will complete in July 2020. This eclipse cycle highlights the star signs, Cancer and Capricorn, so it’s about learning and education and making more of your life.
This eclipse is opposed by your co-ruler Pluto, so it could symbolise an ending as well as a beginning. Sometimes you have to shut a door in life completely, before you can open a new door and start on a new adventure.
The other key planetary activity this month takes place in Virgo, the sign which rules friends and group activities in your horoscope. On the one hand this is about your social life, making new friends, catching up with old friends but it’s also about alliances and the people you team up with, who you hang out with.
The planet of relating Venus enters Virgo on the 10th and remains here until August 6th. Venus is your partner planet so, if you’re looking for love, love and friendship are linked. If you’re in a relationship, the biggest issue between you could be money, your future security.
Yet, it’s by joining forces that you get more done. Widen your reach, think foreign connections, get the law on your side. Take part in a political, social, environmental or humanitarian campaign as together you’re bigger and better.
There’s a strong flow of earth sign activity from the 10th to the end of the month as Venus teams up with key planets in the people sectors of your horoscope. For you, this is about establishing strong foundations and creating a sense of security or belonging in your life.
