Scorpio (24 October – 22 November)
There’s not much point in holding back as 2018 gets underway because both your ruling planet, Mars, and the planet of opportunity, Jupiter, are in your star sign Scorpio. Plus, with no retrograde planets to get in the way, it’s an excellent month to throw yourself wholeheartedly into new and exciting personal goals and aims.
Mars is strong in its sign of rulership Scorpio and remains here until the 26th. The projects you begin this month and the plans you make could see you throughout until the end of 2018, but there’s no point in going slow or taking your time. It’s full steam ahead from word go.
The best date in January is the 7th when Mars and Jupiter come together in Scorpio and this is a rare planetary event. Together, these two planets represent enthusiasm and vigour and it’s a brilliant time to take a risk, play big or go all out to win.
When planets are in your star sign Scorpio, the emphasis turns towards personal projects and goals, and also your image and profile. The stronger you feel physically and the more confident you are within yourself, the better your chances of success. Big yourself up, self-promote and let the world know who you are and what you have to offer.
Plus, Mars and Jupiter connect with your co-ruler Pluto this month, another reason why decisions or events now could set you up for the year ahead, if not the next few years. Pluto is in Capricorn and the sector of your chart which rules communication, where it’s been for a long time, ten years to be exact.
This is a particularly powerful time for your words, your voice because the planet of authority, Saturn, is also in Capricorn where it remains until 2020 and, this month, three of the personal planets move through this same sector of your chart.
So you can’t hide away now or play small. In fact, if you can make your mark within your community, inspire other people or share your words in a way that makes a difference, go for it. The period between the 7th to the 10th is particularly potent in this respect. Put forward a bid, hand in a proposal and ensure you get your voice heard.
Capricorn also rules education in your horoscope, so ensure you have the skills and qualifications you need for the next stage in your life and never stop learning. This will stand you in good stead moving forward. This theme will be strong during the Full Moon on the 2nd and the New Moon on the 17th, when the Cancer/Capricorn axis of the zodiac is highlighted, representing knowledge, expansion and study.
One weekend when there is a question mark around speaking up is the 13th/14th as volatile Uranus clashes with the Sun and Venus in Capricorn. You might fall out with someone at work if you’re outspoken or perhaps you disagree with what you hear. If you can, take a step back rather than get too involved in office politics or a dispute.
A stand-out date this month is the 16th when big planet Jupiter in Scorpio teams up with your co-ruler Pluto in Capricorn. This is the first of three encounters between these mighty planets in 2018. This is a time to ensure you’re at the forefront of new developments, whatever your chosen field.
The themes remain the same, i.e. communication both in the written and spoken word, and community projects. Add to this foreign connections, publishing, media and the law and there are a few different areas where you can make swift progress. Have faith this month and trust that life is leading you in a new direction, one that’s right for you.
On the 13th and 24th, you may end up having some serious conversations when talk planet Mercury teams up first with Saturn, then with Pluto. Ensure you’re on the right side of the authorities and don’t avoid dealing with any difficulties head on.
Sometimes you have to get serious about matters if you’re to make progress. Or at least, you recognise what’s working out in your life and what’s not and you can start to make significant decisions based on the facts.
Money matters start to pick up speed now as Mercury retraces its steps in Sagittarius and your personal money sector up until the 11th. This is paving the way for your ruler Mars’ move into Sagittarius on the 26th where it remains until March 17th.
This is a go-for it period and a time to be ambitious about earning money or chasing after monies owed. This is particularly powerful now because Saturn left this sector of your horoscope at the end of December. So any setbacks or delays can theoretically be overcome and fast once Mars moves into your money sector. Certainly it’s worth a good shot to get what you want financially.
This may be linked to what’s happening at home or within your family. Your domestic sector is under the cosmic spotlight once Venus enters Aquarius on the 18th followed by the Sun on the 20th.
This highlights your roots, your foundations and gives a nod to the past. If this area of your life has been turbulent or there’s been significant change, you’re in sync with your stars. This is because on the 31st there’s a second Full Moon cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis of your horoscope, but this Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse.
This is part of the Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle which began in August 2016 and completes in January 2019. It often coincides with significant shifts in your home and family life or your career and vocation.
Certainly it indicates that it’s time to reorient your compass whether you’re considering where you’re going to live or what you’re going to do professionally. Events may also conspire to move you forward, ready or not.
