Scorpio Horoscope October 2023

crow, Full Moon

There may be times when you need some retreat time this month. Perhaps, you’re busy with a personal project or you’re recovering from a bout of ill-health. This has a lot to do with the Sun’s move through Libra and the most hidden sector of your horoscope.

The Sun remains in Libra until the 23rd and is joined by talk planet Mercury from the 5th to the 22nd. Plus, your ruling planet Mars is in Libra up until the 12th. This is about inner work for you and turning your attention to your personal development, nourishing your spirit and soul.

The Sun in Libra may offer you an opportunity to discover a rich inner life. You could experience a spiritual awakening or be aware of the wheel of fortune and karma stepping in. At the very least, give yourself time and space to be quiet and reflective. Tap into your inner voice and bring your deep sense of knowingness to what’s right for you moving forward.

Solar Eclipse

There’s a powerful influence in the star sign Libra on the 14th, when a New Moon Solar Eclipse takes place. This is the second eclipse in a new eclipse cycle which began earlier this year. The eclipses cut across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac and are a strong focus in your life until March 2025.

The Aries/Libra axis highlights your work and health, your lifestyle and routine, service and devotion to others and your spiritual path. The first eclipse took place here on April 20th. Therefore, something that began on or around this date may be calling your attention again.

Planets in Libra represent what’s hidden for you, a time of release or letting go, when you clear out what’s old in preparation for what’s new. Plus, your co-ruler Pluto is pulled into the eclipse picture. Therefore, this is about personal transformation. This could coincide with an ending as well as a new beginning.

Consider where the theme of endings is pivotal in your life and be vigilant in taking a step back if necessary. You may want to create some time or space to think things through, especially regarding your future path or your next steps.

Pluto’s energy is intense, powerful and focused. Plus, Pluto’s dominant this month as it turns direct on the 11th, three days before the eclipse. Pluto’s laser focus is currently in earth sign Capricorn and your communication sector.

You may be deciding what you want to study, learn or teach. Or, perhaps you’re recognising what path isn’t right for you. A decisive date to say no would be the 21st when Pluto clashes with the Sun and Mercury in Libra.

Also, think about how you’re spending your time. It’s here where Libra’s scales can be valuable for you, considering how you balance the hours in your day. If you’re wasting your time, be firm with yourself and create new plans and strategies to help your productivity and well-being.

If you have a long commute, consider how you might use your time better. For example, by listening to podcasts, audio books or learning a language. This is an important month to think about the information you’re receiving and use your time wisely.

Sometimes, this is a period in life when you have to take good care of yourself. Or, you’re caring for someone close. You may be closely tuned into your deeper emotions, as you’re drawn back towards the past.

Scorpio Season

Scorpio season begins early this year. Yet, your official birthday month starts on the 23rd. This is when the Sun enters Scorpio adding confidence, vitality and heat to the mix. This is a time when you’re going in deep. Here’s the pattern:

Planets in Scorpio:

  • Mars (action/drive) – from October 12th
  • Mercury (communication) – from October 22nd
  • Sun (identity) – from October 23rd

Your ruling planet Mars enters your star sign Scorpio on the 12th. Mars excels in Scorpio and this could bring with it a surge of energy. Mars is a physical planet and you may be prepared to fight for what you want when you have the God of War backing you.

Planets in Scorpio turn the cosmic spotlight towards your personal goals and ambitions and what you want to achieve for yourself. Scorpio rules profile and image. This is your cue to pick up the pace, believe in yourself and make things happen. It’s an exciting planetary energy that’s motivating and purposeful.

Scorpio season is an ideal time for soul-searching, self-analysis or for solving mysteries or puzzles. It could bring out the detective within you, as you dig deep for answers.

On the 29th, Mercury and Mars make a powerful conjunction in Scorpio. This can be a time when you’re ready to walk (Mars) your talk (Mercury) or do (Mars) what you say (Mercury). It’s potentially argumentative, however, and the flames are fanned by expansive Jupiter in your opposite star sign Taurus. All in all, this combination promises adventure, freedom and a lot of drama.

Lunar Eclipse

This period in the month is extra powerful because of the final eclipse in an eclipse cycle which cuts across the Taurus/Scorpio axis of the zodiac. This is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse which takes place on the 28th, completing a cycle which began in November 2021.

These are important eclipses for you. They’re about your relationships, your one-to-one’s, also your identity and who you’re becoming. These are the areas of life where there could be drama or you sense that things are changing. Eclipses often have a theme of endings and new beginnings, so pay close attention to what happens during this phase.

Your relationships are shifting so embrace change as best you can. If someone lets you down, take back your power. If you want more freedom in your life, make it happen. If you’re ready to fall in love, be open to magic and transformation.

There are other ways that this powerful astrology could play out. You may have a psychic experience or be able to converse with the dead. Scorpio season is when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest.

Be wary, however, not to go so deep that you lose sight of the light. If you’re a typical Scorpio, you may have a side to your nature that can spiral down into negativity. If this happens, attract other people into your life who bring laughter and lightness into your world.

Rest of the Month’s Astrology

It’s a big month as it’s eclipse season. Yet, the beginning of October is equally significant. This is because the inner planets, Venus and Mercury, leave their respective star signs where they were recently retrograde.

The planet of love and relating Venus moves out of Leo and your career and future sector on the 9th. Before then is an ideal time to sort out any dramas that went on and consider where you’re heading and why. This could be when your partner decides to change direction. Or, you take a step back from a career path that’s doing you no favours.

Venus enters Virgo and your friendship sector. This is where talk planet Mercury was retrograde so sort out any misunderstandings and get back on the right side of the people you trust most dearly. Mercury leaves Virgo on the 5th. Before it does so, reopen the lines of communication.

Eclipse Do’s & Don’ts

It’s a double whammy of eclipses this month. The Aries/Libra eclipse cycle continues while the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle comes to an end. Here are some eclipse tips:

  • Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that you’re not in control.
  • Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
  • Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
  • Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can aim to take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
  • Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes and wheel of destiny – they often act as a signpost or turning point.

  1. Just read about lunar eclipse on the 28th. I interviewed a vendor to help me maintain my newly landscaped backyard on the 28th. He came highly recommended by neighbors. He saw my backyard and told me how the grading of my backyard should be redone which means I had to tear up my entire new landscaping, how the hedges need to be moved, how certain plants were wrong for the spot/weather… I was completely stressed out after talking to him. Talk about drama!

After stressing over night, I decided not to work with him. Way too much negativity!
