Scorpio Horoscope January 2023

Happy New Year

As 2023 begins, it’s important to note that your ruling planet Mars is on go slow and communication planet Mercury is also retrograde. Therefore, you’re wise to take your time moving into the new year, even if your emotions are intense.

Pluto Conjunctions

The intensity comes from what’s happening with your co-ruler Pluto in Capricorn and your communication sector. On the 1st, there’s a Venus-Pluto conjunction and this is followed on the 18th by a Sun-Pluto conjunction. These are powerful combinations, passionate, obsessive and resolute.

You might be making your mark in your local community. Or, perhaps you’re ready to speak your mind. You could be unearthing corruption or be fed up with someone else’s bad behaviour. It’s not a time for the faint-hearted and it looks as if you’re starting the year in strident mode.

Yet, do be aware that the planet of communication Mercury is in Capricorn and retrograde until the 18th. This can be a classic time of misunderstandings and Mercury’s been on go slow since December 29, 2022. Events on or around this date could prove pivotal for what plays out throughout January.

Once Mercury is back up to speed, listen out for important news or information that comes to light. Mercury turning direct can bring what’s hidden to the surface.

If you’re a typical Scorpio, you’re a great detective who’ll go to extremes to find out the truth. At the very least, you may know where you stand and what’s in front of you moving forward into 2023.

Full Moon

Also as the year begins, there’s a powerful Full Moon in Cancer on the 6th. This Full Moon cuts across the travel and study sectors of your horoscope. It’s a time when you may be keen to broaden your horizons and to line up some plans for the rest of the year.

Plus, the planet Uranus is involved in Taurus and your relationship sector, in a good way. Uranus kicks in in on the 5th & 8th and you might be ready to say yes to a new adventure or experience because of someone you meet.

Or, perhaps a loved one books an exciting trip away. Certainly, love and adventure are linked during this month’s Full Moon.

Mars Direct

The big news for you, however, is the fact that your traditional ruling planet Mars turns direct on the 12th. Mars has been retrograde since October 30, 2022 and this can be a tricky time for you. You may have found that your plans have been thwarted or you’ve not been the one in control, perhaps in an intimate relationship or regarding a money matter.

As Mars turns direct in Gemini, this could be a significant turning point for you regarding finances. At the very least, this suggests you may need to take action and not hide your head in the sand if money is an issue. 

Once Mars is back up to speed, it’s a time to speak up and be pro-active regarding money. You may have been waiting on paperwork or perhaps bureaucracy has gone crazy. Wherever there’s been confusion or misunderstandings, mid-January is the time to try and sort things out.

Mars remains in Gemini until March 25th so engage actively with all forms of money matters over the next couple of months.

Gemini rules savings, debt, investments, mortgages, benefits, taxes, inheritances, etc. in your horoscope. It’s any form of financial transaction that ties to you another person or organisation.

Aquarius Themes

Also this month, there’s strong emphasis on the star sign Aquarius at the base of your horoscope. Aquarius rules your home and family, your past and where you come from. The planet of relating Venus is here from the 3rd to the 27th.

You might be meeting up with family. Or, perhaps you’re involved with making your home more beautiful. Venus is the planet linked to love and relationships but also represents money, art & beauty.

Plus, the Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th closely followed by a New Moon here on the 21st. A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings and an ideal time to start a new initiative or launch a home or family related project.

This could be related to what’s been happening financially. This month, your ruler Mars teams up with Venus in Aquarius on the 9th & the Sun in Aquarius on the 30th. You might be sharing resources with family or be looking at ways of improving your financial situation that’s linked to your home. It’s a positive month for a property deal or negotiation.

There’s another planet involved as big planet Jupiter teams up with Venus & the Sun on the 4th and 25th respectively. Jupiter’s the planet of opportunity, expansion and growth and is currently in Aries and your work and lifestyle sector.
