Sagittarius (22 November-21 December)
Let’s start with money. Venus, the planet that rules money, is now moving in direct motion in Capricorn, the sign that rules your personal money sector. After six weeks where money’s been under wraps for one reason or another, you should now start to feel more positive about cash and at least be able to see the end goal if not know exactly how you’re going to get there.
Venus likes the good things in life and enjoys spending but in Capricorn, this makes Venus more sensible and cautious. Yes, you want to spend but it’s with a goal in mind and you want to see results for your efforts. It feels a productive energy for saving and earning money.
There may be a chance to pay off a debt or settle a money-related issue on or around the 25th when Venus makes an easy sextile aspect to Saturn. This feels peace-loving and harmonious on the one hand but it might also be about you wanting to pay your dues or finalise matters with another person so you’re no longer tied to them. Financial and emotional ties are often interlinked.
Jupiter is your ruling planet and since last summer Jupiter has been in your joint finance sector where it remains until July of this year. This month Jupiter makes a major planetary aspect which is a square to Uranus in Aries, a fellow fire sign that rules entertainment, fun, love affairs and kids on the 26th. These areas of your life may prove risky or volatile with regard to cash and it’s not a good date to take a huge financial risk unless you’re also prepared to accept any losses.
Together Jupiter and Uranus break the rules, they’re freedom-loving planets and associated with lucky breaks. Yes, it’s a square and therefore a difficult aspect but Jupiter is currently exalted, i.e. strong in Cancer and adds a protective influence. You may be teaming up with other people to make your money go further or changing your lifestyle significantly to improve your cash flow and your well-being.
Money or a new money-making opportunity may come to you out of the blue or via the internet and if so, don’t dismiss it. Trust your natural Sagittarian intuition and on the last day of the month, decide what you want to do.
The last day of the month, the 28th, is important in February as it’s the date on which Mercury, the communication planet, turns direct after being retrograde, i.e. on go slow since February 6th. This is an important retrograde period for you as Mercury spends most of the month moving backwards through Aquarius and the sign that rules your communication sector.
As Mercury is the planet of communication, this signals a double dose of communication chaos. It’s important to ensure that you back up important data before the 6th and that you double check all correspondences, meetings or get-togethers so you can quickly iron out any misunderstandings.
Especially around mid-month, it looks as if things may be moving slowly for you and you’re wise to bide your time if you’re waiting for news or an answer to an important question. Mercury retrogrades back into Aquarius on the 13th and on the 11th and 19th, first the Sun and then Mercury are in square aspect to Saturn. Saturn squares can put obstacles in your path and it may mean that someone says ‘no’ to your request.
This isn’t to say that you can’t get what you want this month but you may have to wait until the end of February for a smoother flow of communication. You may experience some technical problems or appliances or gadgets breaking down and if a steady flow of communication is vital to you or your job, ensure you have plan B up your sleeve.
This is a sociable month for you with key planets in the air signs of Libra and Aquarius and if you find you have more time on your hands catch up with old and new friends alike. The weekend of the 15th/16th looks especially lively for a social get-together or party.
This is Valentine’s weekend and with a Full Moon in Leo on the 14th, you can expect an emotional Valentine’s Day. Leo rules big-heartedness and generosity. Look out too for someone new who bowls into your life, either a foreigner or someone with a great sense of humour.
Finally, be prepared to take life slowly at home or with regard to your family this month as Mercury begins it’s retrograde period in the sign of Pisces down at the base of your chart. The first week is perfect for a trip down memory lane or being in the bosom of your family but with regard to home and family matters, on the whole the best advice is to take your time. These areas of your life feel romantic and sentimental but not grounded and you may be feeling your way forward until next month rolls around.
