August is traditionally Leo season but this month, Virgo dominates, the star sign at the peak of your horoscope. Action planet Mars is here all month, the planet of relating Venus is in Virgo until the 16th, talk planet Mercury is here from the 11th to the 30th and the Sun enters Virgo on the 22nd.
Virgo rules your career and vocation, your status and reputation. It’s about your future path in life. This could mean you’re exceptionally busy and doing well. Virgo rules writing, so this might involve a book, blog or media column.
Virgo is the star sign of order and strategy, so get on top of your job, your projects, the next stage in your life. Journalling could help you find clarity. Create a strong team around you. You can’t do it all on your own, whatever your current goal.
There is always a proviso with planets in earth signs and it’s about keeping your feet on the ground. Also, read the small print if you’re involved in a big deal or promotion.

Leo rules the sector of your horoscope that’s closely linked to all things Jupiter, i.e. your ruling planet. This includes travel & study, the bigger picture, being expansive and living life to the full.
Plus, there’s a New Moon in Leo on the 8th. A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings and a great date to set your intentions, launch something new or start over.
The two weeks between the New Moon on the 8th and the Full Moon on the 22nd are ideal for being proactive and getting out and about. The more you put into life, the more you get back in return. August promises freedom and adventure, so embrace new experiences in your life.
Freedom Calls
The only proviso is the fact that unpredictable Uranus is active this month. Uranus is currently in Taurus and your work and health sector. Therefore, things may not always go according to plan. The first week of the month is lively and so is the period around the 20th when Uranus switches direction.
This feels quite disruptive, so be flexible and go wherever life leads you. If you’re out of work, it would be a good time to take yourself off somewhere new or try something different.
As a Sun Sagittarius, you don’t find it easy if you’re tied down or restricted. You might be the one making a bid for freedom, especially close to the Full Moon in Aquarius on the 22nd. You may be ready to stand up for what you believe in and a twist of fate could see you starting out on a new path.
People Skills
There’s a shift mid-month, as the planet of relating Venus moves into social Libra on the 16th. Libra rules friends and group activities in your horoscope and it’s important to aim for a healthy work/life balance.
You could be making new connections or be around friends who inspire you, promote you, uplift you or vice versa. Use your people skills to the max and charm your way into a new group or network.
Your ruling planet Jupiter is also in an air sign this month as it’s back in Aquarius. This is the community and communication sector of your horoscope and you’ll be at your best when you’re at the centre of things.
Jupiter represents growth and opportunity. It’s the planet linked to travel, study and spreading your wings. At its best, Jupiter promises abundance, gifts and lucky occurrences. It’s also associated with religion, publishing, media and the Law.
The more you can adopt a feel-good attitude to life and the more you believe anything’s possible, then Jupiter kicks in and enhances your chances.
The Sun-Jupiter opposition on the 20th is when Jupiter’s at its brightest and closest to earth. Your hedonistic ways could be in full flow during this period.
