Pisces (19 February – 20 March)
Pleasure Dome
It’s a complex month astrologically. Yet, hopefully, you have plenty to be grateful and thankful for. Up until the 23rd, the Sun is shining bright in Cancer, a fellow water sign. Plus, the Sun is joined by lovely Venus in Cancer from the 3rd to the 28th.
Cancer rules one of the best sectors of your horoscope. It’s where you find pleasure and enjoy yourself. This is the sector ruling your hobbies and leisure activities. It’s about play primarily rather than work, it’s about entertainment and good times. Therefore, it’s important in July that you kick back and do more of what you love.
Cancer represents children and lovers in your horoscope. Therefore, you might be enjoying yourself with the kids more than usual or be in the throes of a love affair. The close connections in your life are where joy can be found and, as a Sun Pisces, you love to connect with other people.
There are some key dates for love and relationships this month. Your planet, Neptune, a symbol of romance, teams up with the Sun on the 11th and Venus on the 18th. These combinations are gorgeous for being in love and/or making the most of life. Do something dreamy and special and step outside of your usual routine.
One of your Pisces strengths is your ability to escape the humdrum and seek inspiration through music, poetry, art and beauty. This is a great month to remind yourself where inspiration lies. Whenever you feel down-hearted, actively embrace the remarkable.
Mercury Retrograde
This is particularly important as key astrology this month suggests some areas of frustration and plans that could go awry. Firstly, communication planet, Mercury, turns retrograde on the 7th and remains on go slow until August 1st.
This is invariably a time to slow down the pace and do less not more. An ideal way of spending the Mercury retrograde phase is to take yourself off somewhere new and find a different perspective. Be aware that plans could unravel during this Mercury retrograde phase, so be flexible and give other people the benefit of the doubt before leaping in.
When it comes to romance, you could reconnect with a childhood sweetheart or have an encounter with someone from your past. This is especially true for you after the 19th when Mercury retreats back into Cancer. Mercury teams up with the Sun on the 21st and Venus on the 25th, both strong dates for close connections.
Eclipse Season
There is, however, the small matter of two eclipses this month. Firstly, there’s a New Moon or Solar Eclipse in Cancer on the 2nd and secondly a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on the 16th. Eclipses often coincide with the unexpected and they tend to bring what’s hidden to light.
They’re neither good nor bad but they do shift the dynamics and changes things around. If you’re a parent, take extra care of a child or children during these eclipses. You may have reason to be proud, especially on or near the Solar Eclipse but be extra attentive near the Lunar Eclipse.
The Lunar Eclipse falls amidst some challenging planetary activity when Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn oppose key planets in Cancer. The dates to note are the 9th, 14th, 17th and 21st. Yet, the most significant event is the Lunar Eclipse in the midst of this period.
Saturn and Pluto aren’t an easy duo of planets. They represent limitation, sometimes loss or endings. They bring you back down to earth with a bump, so be gentle with the people in your life, especially if someone close is going through a difficult time.
As Neptune in Pisces is pulled in to this pattern in a good way, it’s likely that you’re being called forth to be supportive, compassionate and kind. Be there for other people and prioritise the ones you love.
Also, if things don’t work out the way you want this month, take a step back and review and revise your plans. It doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve your personal goals. In fact, once Mercury turns direct early August, there’s a theme of second chances.
Action Stations
The other area of your horoscope under the cosmic spotlight this month is represented by the star sign, Leo. Action planet, Mars, is here from the 1st until mid-August and Leo rules your work and routine, your lifestyle and health.
These are the areas of your life where you’re wise to be pro-active, even if there are times when you get stopped in your tracks. For example, the period around the 7th to the 11th could be challenging. Mercury turns retrograde in Leo on the 7th, pulls in Mars on the 8th and Mars clashes with Uranus in Taurus on the 11th.
This could be a time when tempers flare but it’s not wise to act impulsively. Words might be spoken in haste and it will take a while for things to calm down. There is a chance of resolution, a calmer stage but later in the month. The Sun enters Leo and its sign of rulership on the 23rd followed by Venus’ move into Leo on the 28th.
This is great for reconciliation and sorting out any difficult work relationships. Also, this could benefit your relationship with a sibling, neighbour or someone in your local community.
Plus, there’s a stunning New Moon in Leo on August 1st, the same date as Mercury turns direct. Put all this together and hard work will pay off, eventually. Try and keep a healthy work/life balance throughout July and don’t attempt to push too hard, until you know where success lies.
It’s an intriguing month of going with the flow and responding to life’s twists and turns as smoothly and thoughtfully as possible. Also, to try to forgive yourself and others when it doesn’t always work out.
