Pisces (19 February – 20 March)
The theme of possibility rings out as the new year begins especially as your co-ruler Neptune is in action on January 1st. Neptune has been in your sign of Pisces for some years now so the more you know yourself and the more ‘Pisces’ you are, the better.
Another key planet is in Pisces as 2017 gets underway and this is Mars, the action planet linked to passion and courage. In addition, it’s Mars which connects with Neptune on New Year’s Day. So swing into action fast and in particular use this powerful planetary configuration to visualise your year ahead.
You might already believe in the power of intention and the ability to create what you visualise. If so, leap into action and don’t hold back. This is a powerful time for manifesting your desires.
Ambitious Mars remains in your sign of Pisces until January 28th so this indicates that January is a good month to focus on you and your personal goals and aims. Do whatever’s necessary to add some energy to your life, to bring focus to your intentions, to start the year in a positive manner.
Another uplifting turning point is Mercury’s change of direction on January 8th as Mercury turns direct in Sagittarius, the sign which rules your career and vocation, your future and where you’re heading. This is an excellent date to speak your intentions out loud, to get on the phone and make things happen.
This could relate back to events in early December 2016 and Mercury’s change of direction often brings good news or reveals hidden information. If you receive a job offer on or around the 8th or you have a clear insight about what you want to do next, this is a positive symbol for you.
Other people are also involved in your plans and in fact, you need other people around you to inspire you when you lose faith, to boost you when your confidence is low. The Sun is in Capricorn and your friendship and group sector up until the 19th.
In addition, communication planet Mercury re-enters Capricorn on January 12th and is out of its shadow phase on January 27th. So connect with other people, use your networks, get together with colleagues or friends to move things forward. You can’t do it on your own this month and if you try, you might quickly lose momentum.
Saturn is also in Sagittarius, the taskmaster of the heavens, and when Saturn is square to Mars on January 19th, this is when you need other people around you. Whether your boss is hard to deal with or you slip into impossibility, it’s important that you line up different people, different networks to keep you on track.
The same goes if you’ve bitten off more than you can chew and you’re overwhelmed with your schedule. Rely on friends and your wider social circle to help you out. This is a good month to ensure that you have a healthy support network in your life.
There is another key planet in Pisces this month and this is Venus, the planet of love and relating. Venus enters Pisces on January 3rd where it remains throughout the month. This is gorgeous for love and romance and you’re at your most attractive when Venus graces your sign.
Pisces rules your image and profile and as Venus rules beauty, this is the ideal time to consider how you come across to others. Line up a pampering session, buy some new clothes in the sales, enjoy a photography session to get some lasting memory photos of you and the ones you love.
Venus and Neptune come together in your sign of Pisces on January 12th, a day when romance can find you and/or enhance your life. These two planets have a lot in common so do something special mid-month, either with the one you love or with the intention of meeting someone new.
You still have Saturn to contend with and it’s Venus’ turn to encounter Saturn on January 27th. Sometimes this can dampen love because Saturn’s the ‘get real’ planet and you can’t live in a fantasy world when Saturn intervenes. You have to think about practical matters and for you, this might include what a partner does for a job or to make a living.
Money matters remain important to you especially during the powerful Full Moon on January 12th. This Full Moon creates a Grand Cross in the sky as there are more than two planetary bodies involved.
The Sun sits next to power planet Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon opposes them both in water sign Cancer. Cancer rules all the things in life you ‘give birth’ to, e.g. romance & love affairs, children & pregnancy, creative projects, entertainment and luck.
On its own this Full Moon highlights your social life, having fun, doing whatever gives you pleasure. Emotions are heightened during the Full Moon and the hedonistic side of your character comes out to play.
Yet this Full Moon is also squared by an opposition between your ruling planet Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries, the freedom planets cutting across the financial axis of your chart. This evokes a similar theme to events at the end of December 2016 and there are likely to be some significant shifts on the financial front.
This might be a reality check about what you can and can’t afford, expenses around children could be highlighted or wanting a lover who’s filthy rich. Notice what crops up for you and rather than drop into overwhelm or act impulsively, think things through carefully. Decide where your options are, what you’re ready to discard and what you want to work towards.
Finally this month, the Sun enters the most hidden sector of your chart and the sign of Aquarius on January 19th. Plus, there’s a New Moon in Aquarius on January 28th. So this is when you need some time to yourself to plan ahead.
View this as a key period of preparation for what next in your life. February is a big month coming up with a major eclipse in your sign of Pisces, a powerful symbol of endings and new beginnings.
