New Moon [15 Libra 48]

The New Moon is imminent, which means we are currently in the dark of the Moon, a time to retreat and be quiet. This month’s New Moon takes place in Libra, one of the air signs, symbolising balance and the search to find peace and harmony in life.
Pluto Power
This year, however, that’s a tall order, a tough task for two reasons. Firstly, this New Moon is square to Pluto in Capricorn which means the balance of the scales, the symbol of justice, is out. Pluto represents loss and transformation and the Sun is square to Pluto at the end of this week (October 12, 2018, 05:11 GMT+1)
In Capricorn, Pluto exposes the dark underbelly of power and corruption. Capricorn rules big business, the government and Pluto in Capricorn is the plutocrat, the power elite.
For many people, this currently feels like a world out of balance when ultimate power reigns and truth and justice are ignored. If it helps at all, the cosmos is in agreement.
Venus R Scorpio
Then, we need to consider the planet which rules the New Moon in Libra. This is, of course, Venus, the planet which rules women, love & relationships, money, art & beauty. And what’s happening with Venus? She is retrograde, currently weakened in her power, diving deep into Scorpio, Pluto’s sign of rulership.
For some of you, this may feel like a descent into the abyss when you have to confront difficult emotions, injustice and the dark side of life out in the world. If this is true for you, keep seeking, keep feeling and don’t ignore the dark places. Scorpio is the star sign which represents power and transformation and Venus will emerge from Scorpio a changed ‘woman’, stronger, wiser and empowered.
The turning point may come on October 26th, when the Sun unites with Venus, a time of revelation and enlightenment, as the Sun rules light and vitality. The Sun sheds light on the dark places and brings much-needed strength to Venus as she starts to emerge from Scorpio’s realm.
Set Your Intentions
Also, use this New Moon in Libra to set your intentions for the month ahead and find clarity. Connect with the people close to you, choose your allies and speak your truth. The New Moon brings light to the darkness and with it comes a sense of renewal and knowledge that can prove useful moving forwards.
Decide what stays and what goes in your life. When Pluto’s in town, sometimes you have to close a door on what’s not working out, get rid of toxicity in your life and focus on what’s pure and crystal clear. It’s a welcome New Moon, so use her well.
