Jupiter Joy
The closest planetary aspect to the New Moon is a positive sextile aspect to Jupiter in Gemini. The Sun represents vitality, heat and warmth and Jupiter expands what it touches.
It’s a lucky planetary combination between the Sun and Jupiter, symbolising visionary plans, big goals, a search for meaning, and a connection with the divine. Look out for new opportunities coming your way and notice when and where you can say yes to life.
The Sun-Jupiter connection is about making the best out of any situation, looking on the bright side and spreading optimism. Jupiter is in air sign Gemini, a social air sign, linked to exploration and communication. The Sun-Jupiter sextile aspect perfects on August 7th, three days after the New Moon.
Mercury Retrograde
It’s worth noting, however, that less than twenty-four hours after the New Moon, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde. Mercury will be on go slow from August 5th to August 28th. This doesn’t mean that those New Moon wishes aren’t relevant – they absolutely are, so set your intentions and sow seeds.
At the same time, be aware that what you set in motion may take longer to come to fruition. Seeds that are sown might require patience and faith that they will grow and flourish in time.
I’ll be writing more about Mercury Retrograde in a separate article and how to make the most of it. It’s often viewed as a time of communication chaos but there’s a lot to be said for slowing down the pace and engaging with all the re-words during the three week Mercury retrograde phase.
Plus, Mercury will retreat back into Leo on August 15th and turn direct in Leo on August 28th. Therefore both these dates could be significant. See what emerges from any fresh start or new beginning that comes into being under this playful and celebratory Leo New Moon.
