Monthly Stars April 2012

AriesAries (21 March-19 April)

I am very excited about April’s stars for you, Aries, as there seems a lot going right and a surge of forward motion. This is because Mercury, planet of communication, turns direct in the heavens on the 4th (astrologer breathes sigh of relief) and re-enters Aries on the 16th. Add to this, Mars, planet of action and your ruling planet, also in forward motion from the 14th and mid-month feels incredibly exciting. So make plans, put your ideas into action and get things moving in your life.

Once Mercury is back in your sign on the 16th, shift the emphasis to your image, your appearance and your personal and public profile. Mercury in Aries is about shouting your message from the rooftops and its great for letting others know who you are and what you’re about.

On the 22nd, Mercury meets up with Uranus, planet of spontaneity and surprises. This is about being different and finding a way to stand out from the crowd. Think back to last month and what happened when Mercury connected with Uranus on 5th and 18th March. Now’s a good time for second chances, getting back in touch with someone, reapplying for a job, doing things over. It’s exciting and fast which fits with your Aries nature.

It’s not all go, go, go, however, as Mars is still in the earth sign of Virgo and the earth signs are dominant until the summer. Virgo rules your house of work, routine, health and service, so it’s about doing life well on an everyday basis. Be diligent and work steadily towards your goals and this is a different energy from the potential overnight success of Mercury/Uranus in Aries.

If you started a project at the end of last year, keep going with it and don’t give up, especially if its work or health related. You have a few more months yet to bring your bigger goals to fruition. Same applies if you’re looking for work or a new job or you’re keen to improve your fitness or want to be healthier. In all cases, be thorough and research comprehensively so you’re at the top of your game. Hopefully, having Mercury and Mars back on your side from mid-month, new opportunities will start to come in.

Money matters too are featured when the Sun moves into Taurus on 19th and this month’s New Moon is in Taurus, sign of fertility and growth. Anything you begin on or around this date promises financial reward. It’s a good weekend for a car boot sale or de-cluttering and selling your stuff online.

Finally, when it comes to love and relationships, the Easter weekend features prominently. A full moon cutting across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac spotlights yourself and a significant other. This signals the need for compromise, working things out together and reaching agreement. Venus, planet of love, squares up to two other planets, Neptune and Mars on 6th and 7th respectively which backs up this theme. Whatever’s not working in a relationship, here’s your chance to find a way forward, even if you agree to disagree.

Easter Monday brings an opportunity to kiss and make up, to send a loving text and to add fun to the mix. Be the first to say “sorry” if that’s what it takes and reconnect quickly and spontaneously.

If you’re single, you’re most likely to meet someone new close to home. Keep in mind that advert on the station platform, smile at people and start a conversation.

Taurus (20 April-20 May)

Your ruling planet, Venus is on the move early in April as it leaves your sign on the 3rd and moves into Gemini. Gemini rules your money house and Venus will spend an unusually long period in this part of your chart as Venus is retrograde, i.e. on go slow from 15th May – 27th June. This is a long time with your focus on money, possessions, what you value in your life and you may already suspect the reason why.

As you may know, it’s never the best time to initiate major new beginnings when a planet’s retrograde so if you want to earn more money, sort out your financial future or reorganise your finances in some way, get to it before mid-May. Gemini is the communication sign so this suggests now’s a good time to find out the information you need, whether you read books, ask for advice or join an online forum.

Venus is relatively quiet all month, although the few days over the Easter weekend look lively. Spending habits may be an issue on the 6th and 7th with one specific person, perhaps your partner, a friend or a child. Use this as a chance to look at deeper issues and change the way you handle finances with certain people in your life. This offers you an opportunity to start a conversation that helps you make headway with a money issue that’s currently not working.

The best day, however, is Easter Monday, when Uranus connects with Venus. This is a brilliant day to listen to your inner voice, write down your dreams, check out your coincidences or follow a hunch. Uranus represents light-bulb moments so listen up for a cracking idea, ‘Gromit’, which benefits you or others in some way.

Two other planets turn direct this month, Mercury, planet of communication, on the 4th and Mars, planet of action, on the 14th. So it’s green lights ahead and a chance to re-launch a project, start again or tweak plans and schemes that are already underway. Second chances are well-starred once a planet turns direct and if there’s someone you want to re-contact or re-connect with, especially who you spoke to on or around 5th or 18th of March, here’s your chance. The 22nd is another sparky day for second or even third chances, so be daring and bold and pick up the phone. Don’t think too hard about it either, as on this day action speaks louder than words.

Earth signs still dominate the heavens and you’re one of them (hooray!). The Sun enters Taurus on 19th and is quickly joined by the Moon so this month’s New Moon is in Taurus on the 21st. As always, this New Moon is wonderful for new beginnings, especially to do with love, children, travel or new experiences. It’s your New Moon so a great time to make some new resolutions. Enjoy what you love and love what you enjoy.

Mars’ change of direction on the 14th is good news too if you’re married or in a relationship. It signals that new energy can be brought to your love life, a surge of forward motion. Be passionate and if your partner’s been absent in some way, this suggests they’re back. If you’re single and looking for love, jump to it. With Mars in your romance zone until the summer, here’s your chance. The 24th looks sexy as does the weekend of the 21st/22nd. Embrace life to the full and make the most of what you have.

Gemini (21 May-20 June)

It’s all going on early in the month with two big events taking place on the 3rd and 4th. Firstly, Venus, planet of love, moves into your sign on the 3rd, where it remains for an unusually long time, four months to be exact. This suggests that love and relationships are going to play a key role in your life over the next few months and there will be a few twists and turns along the way. Certainly, it’s going to be exciting but not always straightforward.

This is because Venus is retrograde, i.e. on go slow in the heavens from 15th May – 27th June and this often suggests that things are going on behind the scenes or deeper issues emerge which require attention. If you’re married or in a relationship, make love high priority and work at your relationship. It’s definitely worth it as Jupiter, planet of opportunity, and your partner planet joins Venus in Gemini mid-June.

Venus in your own sign isn’t only about love, however, as it’s the planet of culture, art and beauty. You may pay more attention to your image and appearance and want to change the way you look or dress. It’s a great month to invest in a personal stylist, have your colours done, try out a new hair style or even investigate cosmetic surgery, if you feel so inclined. If you’re happy with the way you look, why not immerse yourself in culture and let art and plays, movies and books inspire you and enrich your life. Venus is about the good things in life, so enjoy what you love and love what you enjoy.

The other major event takes place on the 4th and this is Mercury, your ruling planet and planet of communication, turning direct in the heavens and beginning to pick up speed after three weeks on go slow. Mercury starts the month at the top of your chart influencing your career and vocation. This is a green light for work projects and look out for second chances, something that was offered or started late February. It’s a great time to go back to the drawing board or to try again for a promotion or new job.

On 16th April, Mercury moves into Aries and your friendship sector, ruling groups and associations. These areas of your life look very lively from mid-month onwards, and note in particular the 22nd when Mercury teams up with Uranus. This livewire contact took place two times in March, on the 5th and 18th and signals quick and spontaneous progress with a friend, group or online venture. Take your chances or accept a last-minute invitation to do something fun and different.

There’s also positive activity down at the base of your chart as Mars, planet of action, turns direct on 14th. Mars in Virgo spotlights your home and family and you can make progress with anything that’s been stuck in these areas since late January. Virgo is one of the earth signs so this is about being involved in an area for the duration and working steadily towards a goal, rather than expecting overnight success. Keep plugging away with a house sale, building work or other home improvements. You may have a few more months yet too complete what you started but at least you’re heading in the right direction.

Finally, quiet time benefits you so consider a retreat or weekend away on 21st/22nd. Pay attention to your spiritual journey and slow things down if you can. This may sound like contradictory advice from earlier as Mercury/Uranus come together on the 22nd. However, it may be a friend or group which inspires or encourages you to relax and slow down and that’s exactly what you need.

Cancer (21 June-22 July)

Two important planets turn direct this month, the planet of communication, Mercury, on the 4th and the planet of action, Mars on the 14th. This means it’s time to focus again on work and vocation and to look at next chances. Other key dates for you are 16th when Mercury enters Aries and your career sector and 22nd when Mercury teams up with lively Uranus also at the top of your chart.

If you remember from last month, Mercury and Uranus came together in your career and vocation sector on 5th and 18th March. This is their 3rd and final meeting for now and a great chance for you to resurrect an old project, re-contact someone who can help you with your work and career, and for brainstorming new and old ideas. This lively energy is especially positive when you initiate a new conversation and act without thinking. Be spontaneous, so if someone pops into your mind, contact them, send an email, a text, go online and be inspired.

Wherever your work or direction in life needs a wake up call, here’s your chance to make things happen. News may come to you, a chance encounter, a phone call out of the blue but you don’t have to sit back and wait for things to happen. You can also work with the energy and be proactive yourself.

Love and relationships are also under the cosmic radar this month and you may find yourself questioning what you want, especially if you’re married, in a relationship or recently divorced. Pluto, planet of deep soul-searching and transformation, is currently lodged in your opposite sign of Capricorn and on 10th, Pluto turns retrograde. Be aware that Pluto does create something of an all-or-nothing scenario so it may be harder to see different options.

If you’re sure you need to move on, then the 10th is a great day for a decisive ending. But Pluto encourages you to explore the deeper issues above and beyond any feelings of discontent. It’s about getting to the core of an issue and examining your own behaviour and motivations and your partner’s. Most of us come to a relationship with some emotional baggage attached and Pluto’s urging you to take a close look at your own and your partner’s baggage and see whether you can start releasing and letting go of a bag or two.

Also be aware that issues concerning the work/life balance or work versus home are strong now, especially on the Full Moon of the 6th and on the 15th when the Sun in Aries opposes Saturn in Libra. This is about finding a compromise and working within your limitations. If you can’t have life totally the way you want it, how you can adapt or make some changes so you’re closer to your ideal picture.

Friends continue to play a supportive role in your life so turn to a good friend or group of friends on or around the 21st when there’s a New Moon in your friendship sector. Reach out to others especially if you want advice on a love issue.

If you’re single, this month is perfect for love manifestations and deep soul-searching. Venus, planet of love, is in the most hidden sector of your chart from the 3rd of this month until early August. This suggests that the most powerful work you can do on your relationships starts within yourself.

Leo (23 July-22 August)

Two planets turning direct and picking up speed this month signal a green light for money matters. Mercury, planet of communication, turns direct on the 4th in Pisces, the sign that rules joint finances. On the 14th, Mars, planet of action, turns direct in Virgo, the sign that rules your own money and possessions. This has got to be good news for cash matters. You may receive news you’ve been waiting to hear or have money repaid or simply find that any stumbling blocks are now passable. Mars’ forward motion in particular suggests that it’s time to put more energy into money, whether making it, investing it, or sorting it out in some way.

Earth signs are still dominant this month and for you they spotlight work, money and success. Take note of what happens on or around the 21st when there’s a brilliant New Moon in Taurus up at the top of your chart. This highlights your vocation, your public profile and where you’re heading in life. It’s a great date for new beginnings and to initiate a money-making project or apply for a new job.

The thing to remember with the earth signs is that they’re a slow burn so you can’t expect overnight success. It’s about working hard and diligently and putting in the hours and the effort, to be repaid in the future. You have a few months yet of planets in earth signs, including the planet of opportunity, Jupiter up at the top of your chart. So whether you’re gaining experience or improving your qualifications, the more chance you have of achieving glory. Key dates for your work and career are the 19th, 21st, 24th and 29th when your planet the Sun is also in Taurus and your career sector and makes strong connections with other planets. Be determined and persevere in whatever you’re doing.

So where’s the excitement to be found this month? On the 16th, Mercury enters Aries and your fellow fire sign and soon after re-connects with livewire Uranus once again. Mercury and Uranus met in Aries on 5th and 18th March. Together these planets suggest exciting news or a last-minute invitation to travel, take a trip or seek adventure. It’s a lively combination and you benefit by being spontaneous.

Friends too play a key role in your life now and over the next few months as Venus, planet of love, moves into your friendship sector on the 3rd. It’s a great time to be back in touch with someone from your past, to reconnect with friends through social media and to organise a get-together with your favourite girlfriends. However, do be aware that the 6th & 7th may prove tricky, especially if there’s an issue around money with a friend or group in which you’re involved. It’s a chance to air opinions and get any upset out into the open and then, hopefully, find a way to move forward. The best day for a girlie get-together is Easter Monday when Venus and Uranus create fun and excitement.

If you’re looking for love, same applies, so make sure you have an invitation lined up for Easter Monday and ask your friends for an introduction. For those of you who are married or in a long term relationship, the 6th and 15th are key dates when you and your partner may need to work things out together. Find a way to compromise or agree to disagree and if there’s any issue whereby you don’t see eye-to-eye, prove you can and do make a good team. How to keep love alive? Send a loving text when the feeling grabs you and be spontaneous in saying “I love you”.

Virgo (23 August-22 September)

It’s time to get things moving, which is great news if you’ve felt that life’s been stuck of late or you’ve been waiting for important news. There are two main reasons why. Firstly, Mercury, your ruling planet and the planet of communication, turns direct on the 4th after three weeks of being retrograde, i.e. on go slow. Mercury picks up speed in your opposite sign of Pisces so it spells good news for you and your other half or at least the chance to know where you stand and to hear important information. It’s a great day for a heart-to-heart and if you’ve been “absent” from each other, reconnect and make time for love.

The other planet that turns direct is Mars, planet of action, on the 14th and it’s in your sign of Virgo. This suggests a forward surge, renewed energy and the perfect time to crack on with your personal goals and ambitions. Mars has been in your sign since November and retrograde since the end of January, so this may be about a project that you’re in for the long haul, trying to change something important in your life that’s taking you a fair amount of time and effort. Being an earth sign yourself, you probably know that it’s only by working diligently and at a steady pace, that you achieve what you set out to do. It’s the classic tale of the hare and the tortoise. Slow and steady wins the race. Although with Mars turning around mid-month, you can race ahead for a while.

If you remember from last month, I talked about finances and how you were having to a play a stop-start game. There are still some challenges to overcome so notice what happens on or around the Full Moon of the 6th and when the Sun opposes Saturn on the 15th. Wherever in life you need to compromise or whoever you don’t see eye-to-eye with regarding money, it’s important to find a mutual way forward and to work within your limitations.

It’s when Mercury moves back into Aries on the 16th that you can really start to pick up the pace and it may be that you need to move fast or be spontaneous to move things forward financially. The 16th is one date to note but also the 22nd when Mercury and Uranus join in the heavens. This is a classic combination for unexpected news or a surprise. Both these planets are in the sector of your chart that rules joint finances. Think back to what happened on the 5th and 18th March when these two planets met. This time around is the 3rd and final meeting for now. Second or even third chances are well-starred so be bold and contact someone who can help or advise you. Be delighted if money comes your way unexpectedly and at the very least, try to sort things out as best you can. You’re back in charge once Mars picks up speed, and in close relationships as well as life in general, you’re the one in the driving seat.

If you’re looking for love, it’s important to trust your instincts, especially on the 10th and 25th. Listen to your inner voice as new love looks dramatic and intense. Your best date for finding love is the 29th when there’s a steadier vibe. Romance has the potential to transform who you are in a good way and a deep connection, perhaps a soul mate connection, is very possible.

Finally, take note what happens with regard to your career and vocation and which female is playing a leading role. If you’re worried about anything on or around the 6th & 7th, use your excellent people skills to find out exactly what’s going on. The more information at your fingertips, the stronger your own position.

Libra (23 September-23 October)

Mercury, planet of communication, is on the move again early on this month, on the 4th to be exact. Mercury’s in Pisces, ruling your work, routine and health. So it’s a good date to pick up the pace and restart conversations that may have gone quiet over the previous three weeks. If there’s a job you’re interested in, a work project you want to reconsider or a contact you’d like to check out again, here’s your chance. Same goes with a fitness routine or health kick; if you’ve let things slide, you have a green light to get back on track.

Easter weekend comes round pretty swiftly but be aware that the first couple of days, the 6th and 7th, may not go entirely according to plan. Venus, your planet squares up to Neptune and Mars on these two dates respectively. This could mean that you and your other half have different ideas about what makes the perfect Easter break or perhaps you’re unsure yourself what you really want to be doing with your time. On the 6th there’s also a powerful Full Moon that cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac. So this is about you and a significant other; it’s a chance to resolve issues but it also means you may have to compromise and realise that you can’t have everything your own way. The best day of the Easter weekend is Easter Monday when Venus and Uranus create a recipe for success. This looks wonderful for love and relationships but any day out that’s spontaneous and fun is highlighted.

The most important dates for relationships, however, are the 16th and 22nd when Mercury is back in Aries, your opposite sign, and teams up with livewire Uranus. This is your chance to turn things around quickly and you can do that by being spontaneous and initiating a conversation that you want to happen. It’s lively and slightly fiery but brilliant nonetheless. Look back to the 5th and 18th March if you’re unsure what’s going to happen. Mercury and Uranus connected on these two dates so you could expect a similar situation or experience to occur. It’s not just about love relationships but any significant partnership or connection in your life. It’s great for new ideas and initiating new beginnings.

Your ruling planet is Venus, planet of love, and Venus is also on the move. Venus enters your fellow air sign of Gemini on the 3rd where it’s going to remain until early August. This is because Venus will be retrograde, i.e. on go slow from 15th May – 27th June. Gemini’s the sign that rules travel, education and anything that expands your experience of life. It’s about feeding your mind and learning something new. You’re in for a lively few months, that’s for sure, but be aware that it won’t be a straightforward path, whether you’re trying to book a holiday or you’re starting a course. Be flexible and go wherever life leads and remember the journey is often more important than the actual destination.

Mars is your partner planet and on the 14th Mars turns direct so wherever your partner’s been held back or struggling since late January, this suggests a turn around, fresh energy and a chance to move forward. A strong influence on earth signs means that nothing is going to change overnight and whatever projects you or your partner are involved in, you have a few months yet to work diligently and steadily towards your chosen goals. At least your partner planet is back heading in the right direction so things should start to feel easier and you can make more progress in your life and relationships from mid-month onwards.

Scorpio (24 October-21 November)

The momentum is mostly positive and moving forward in the month of April. Two key planets turn direct so you get a green light to push hard and move on to the next stage.

The most important for you is Mars, planet of action and your ruling planet, turning direct on the 14th. Mars has been on go slow since late January in one of the earth signs, Virgo, so if somewhere in your life it’s been a long, hard slog, this is the reason why. You may feel as if you’ve been working hard with no end in sight but that should start to shift and change once Mars picks up speed. That’s not to say it’s a breeze from here on in as Mars in Virgo focuses on your future goals and the earth signs are slow burners, so it’s hard work and dedication that will ultimately bring you achievement further down the line. Mars remains in Virgo until early July so keep moving steadily onwards and upwards.

The other planet that starts picking up speed is Mercury, planet of communication, which turns direct on the 4th. This is good news for communication in general and you may hear news you’ve been waiting for. It’s a positive date for those of you who are single and looking for love. If there’s someone on your radar who’s been elusive or absent for a few weeks, here’s a green light, so find a way to reconnect and talk again. Second and even third chances are highlighted when Mercury turns.

On the 16th Mercury moves back into Aries; this rules your work and health. The 22nd & 23rd look especially exciting when Mercury connects with Uranus and returns to the place it was when it turned retrograde on 12th March. This may be someone who gets in touch with you or a surprise that you weren’t expecting. It’s brilliant for taking the initiative and making things happen yourself. It’s a spontaneous livewire energy that’s primed and ready for new ideas and projects. Start running again, reapply for a job or new position, get your name out there and use the internet to make connections. There’s a buzz in the air and the more you tap into this excitement, the more you allow new opportunities to find you.

Solid progress can be made towards the end of the month both for you and your partner. The Sun enters your opposite sign of Taurus on the 19th and a New Moon on the 21st signals new beginnings. It’s a great date for all partnerships in general. But it’s the 24th and 29th that bode well when the Sun connects first with Mars and then Pluto. This suggests you’re in a powerful position; it’s strong, productive and extremely fertile and fruitful. Consolidate where you’re at and focus on what you want for yourself and your other half in the future. It’s a positive month for love and for strengthening the bond between you. However, do take a close look at money matters and talk about things together. It’s important that you’re on the same wavelength where cash is concerned and feel that you’re working as a team rather than going down separate tracks. Finally, on the 10th, when your co-ruler Pluto is intensified in your communication zone, bear in mind that sometimes the less said the better.

Sagittarius (22 November-21 December)

There’s a lot going right for you this month, Sagittarius, especially on the work and money front. Mars, the action planet, has been on go slow in your career sector since late January but on the 14th, Mars turns direct in the heavens and this is your green light for success.

Whether you’re the one who’s been experiencing resistance or whether you’re been waiting on the powers that be, Mars’ direct motion signals you’re back in charge and determination and perseverance are about to pay off big time. Mars remains in Virgo until early July so you have a few months left to work hard and continue on your current path. This is about your work and career but also your vocation in life.

Jupiter, your ruling planet, is also in one of the earth signs, Taurus, where it remains until mid-June. Jupiter’s fairly quiet this month but it still means that keeping your eye on the long term goal rather than hoping for overnight success is what’s required. A project that you’ve been involved in since last year is gaining momentum but stay the course and see things through to the end. The 24th and 29th of the month look promising for productive work progress. You can also transform your financial situation by concentrating on work or a project that’s going to last and by building strong foundations for your future.

The other planet that turns direct this month is Mercury, planet of communication and your partner planet. It turns around on the 4th in your home and family sector and on the 16th Mercury’s back in Aries, where it was early March. This is lively and you can expect to hear good news either to do with your domestic situation or your love life. Aries is the sign that rules romance in your chart and once Mercury’s back in Aries, this signals that a new relationship is back on. If you’re looking for love, it’s full steam ahead after the 16th, and being bold and daring produces results so no shy retiring violet, please, but full on Sagittarius’ love of life and laughter.

On the 22nd, Mercury comes together with Uranus for the 3rd time. The first two contacts were in March on the 5th and 18th so what takes place this month may be linked to what happened back then. Think second chances, an email or contact that arrives out-of-the-blue; it’s lively and exciting especially for love.

Talking of love and relationships, more big news this month is Venus, planet of love, entering your opposite sign of Gemini on the 3rd. This is wonderful news and suggests lively communication and a positive atmosphere. However, Venus clashes with two planets over the Easter weekend on the 6th and 7th which suggests that either work or family commitments may have to come first. There could also be a challenge for a love relationship, being disappointed or not seeing eye-to-eye. As there’s a powerful Full Moon in the heavens, monitor your own emotions carefully and try not to get carried away and say something you may regret. Easter Monday looks much more positive when Venus connects with Uranus and a spontaneous day out or saying “sorry” and “I love you” may be all that’s needed to revitalise love and bring the two of you closer together.

When it comes to love, this is also your chance to work at your relationship and to talk about the issues that are important to you both. From 15th May – 27th June, Venus is retrograde, i.e. on go slow and the more you can sort out between you before mid-May the better. I’ll explain about this in full next month but for now enjoy the summer sunshine and the good news about love.

Capricorn (22 December-19 January)

Your ruling planet Saturn is at the top of your chart but currently retrograde. You may not be able to make progress as fast you would like and perhaps you feel that on some level you’re treading water. Take note of what happens on or around the Full Moon on the 6th which cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of your horoscope. This highlights what you can do rather than what you can’t at work, so you may receive praise or a compliment that really matters or receive an award or recognition of your talents.

The real crux for work issues, however, comes mid-month on the 15th when the Sun opposes your planet Saturn. If you know you’re finding it hard to create a healthy work/life balance or if you have issues between your home life and your work life, this is the moment when matters comes to a head. Begin to find a way forward, look where compromises can be made and work within your limitations. Find a solution to your problem, overcome your challenge and the way forward becomes clearer.

Another planet that may help in this respect is Mercury, planet of communication. Mercury turns direct on the 4th after three weeks retrograde motion, i.e. on go slow and is in your communication zone. So there’s a chance to restart a conversation. Mercury re-enters Aries on the 16th and this is your home and family sector. Combined with the Sun-Saturn opposition on the 15th, this signals that honest communication is the way forward. Have a family pow-wow, talk to people who can help you and whatever issue has been stuck, see if you can find a way to solve it and move on. On the 22nd, Mercury and Uranus come together which is exciting and spontaneous and you may find that news you’ve been waiting for provides a breakthrough. If you’ve been stalling about speaking to someone, perhaps a family member, call them out of the blue. It may be just what’s needed.

There’s a lot to enjoy this month as the emphasis is still on the earth signs, your element. The Sun moves into Taurus on the 19th and almost immediately there’s a New Moon on the 21st. This focuses on all the fun things in your life, like romance, creativity, children, hobbies and pleasurable activities. If the everyday issues of work and home life have been getting you down, make a concerted effort to do things differently and bring more joy into your life. It’s a wonderful time to book a holiday or go on holiday. Mars, the action planet, is in your travel sector and on the 14th Mars turns direct. So there are a lot of signals and green lights to pack your bags, take a holiday and enjoy yourself. The weekend of the 21st/22nd is perfect to do something different that’s nurturing and relaxing.

Finally Venus moves into Gemini on the 3rd where it’s going to be for some time. This may be the boost you need to look after yourself and if you have been feeling unwell or low, this is the energy boost you need. Gemini also rules your work sector but it’s about everyday satisfaction rather than achievement so getting to know colleagues better or socialising with a work team spells success. Look at how you “do” work on an everyday level and consider if there are areas you can improve or change. As far as Gemini is concerned, variety is the spice of life, and sometimes it’s just by shifting your routine in small ways that you revitalise your own energy. So think about your commute, how to fit regular exercise into your day, your eating habits and how to improve them and anything else that benefits your own personal situation. Look after yourself and put your own well-being first.

Aquarius (20 January-18 February)

This is a fast-paced month on the whole and as two key planets turn direct, you get a run of green lights guiding you forward. The first planet to turn direct is Mercury, planet of communication, on the 4th. Mercury’s joined by the planet of action, Mars, which turns direct on the 14th. These two planets pick up speed in your money and finance sectors so this suggests that if anything’s been stuck or stalled and you’ve been playing a waiting game, you can now make progress. It’s also an excellent month for taking the initiative and making things happen. Start a conversation that you need to have about money, whether with your partner or a financial institution. Don’t sit back a moment longer but take action.

Mars remains in Virgo and your house of joint finances until early July. So whatever you’re trying to achieve on the cash front, keep working steadily towards your goals. The earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) demand hard work and effort and reward you in the long term. Whether you’re involved in a business partnership or sorting out a mortgage, investments or debt, stay the course and keep your eye on the prize further down the line.

Mercury changes sign on the 16th when it moves into speedy Aries and your communication sector. This is good news for any meetings or interviews in which you’re involved and suggests that the more you initiate conversations, the more you’ll achieve. On the 22nd, Mercury comes together with your ruling planet Uranus for the third time in two months. Mercury and Uranus connected on 5th and 18th March, so think back to those dates to see if there were any significant conversations, ideas or plans. You can expect more of the same but also it’s a good omen for second chances or even third chances. So if there’s someone you really want to talk to or something you really want to succeed at, give it another go. Be impulsive, spontaneous and grab your opportunities whilst you can. The internet is your friend with Uranus in Aries and perfect for social media, learning, sharing and making virtual friends.

Venus, planet of love, is on the move this month and enters Gemini on the 3rd, which rules romance, creativity and the kids. This is good news if you’re single and looking for love. A new romance promises fun, chatter, laughter and good times. You’re in no rush to settle down and that’s the way to go for now. Prioritise some fun outings with the kids or take up a new artistic hobby or fun activity. Make sure you’re enjoying your life and do something different to add variety.

On the love front, the 6th & 7th could be challenging but it’s perhaps more to do with not seeing eye-to-eye on spending habits. This is of course the Easter weekend and sometimes it’s only when families spend time together that you find the time to discuss any issues that have been bothering you. Compromise is the key word so find a way to work together as a team even if you have to agree to disagree on certain matters.

Easter Monday is the best day of the holidays by far, excellent for romance and love but also getting out and about and having some fun. Chill out time and relaxation are required.

Finally, behind the scenes you may be pondering life’s bigger issues. Your co-ruler Saturn is in a fellow air sign Libra and whether you’re debating moving abroad, gaining new qualifications or learning something new, it seems to be a slow process. Take note of what happens on or around the 15th when the Sun opposes Saturn. You may find that you want quick results but actually need to consider the bigger picture and look further down the line. Any debate or philosophical argument in which you become involved could actually reveal a lot about yourself and what really matters to you in the world. If there’s a cause you feel passionately about, this may be the time to prove your commitment and stand strong behind your beliefs.

Pisces (19 February-20 March)

Events at the beginning of the month are key as Mercury, planet of communication, turns direct in your sign on the 4th. Mercury’s been retrograde, i.e. on go slow for the last three weeks and as Mercury is the planet of communication, it may be things which haven’t been said or words which have been unspoken that are now revealed. Often when Mercury turns direct, new information comes to light or you find out what someone’s really thinking. You may see a certain situation in a new light and know what you have to say. It’s a good time to speak up for yourself and put your own viewpoint forward.

Mercury is your partner planet and on the 14th, Mars, planet of action and sexuality, also turns direct in your opposite sign of Virgo. So there’s double emphasis here on your relationships, perhaps with your partner if you’re married or in a long-term relationship, or with an ex or a business partner. Both these planets signal that it’s time for action, for you to be decisive and move things forward. You may also find that your partner has something to say and new energy and fresh ideas reawaken or enliven your connection. On the whole this suggests positive developments, although there is the possibility of hearing something or discovering something that doesn’t please you. One way or another, you can move on to the next stage of a relationship or partnership with confidence.

Mercury moves on into Aries and your money sector on the 16th. The second half of the month is an excellent time to turn your attention to money and finances in general. On the 22nd, Mercury teams up with spontaneous Uranus for the 3rd time in two months. Mercury and Uranus came together on the 5th and 18th March so think back to those dates, especially with regard to money, to see if an important conversation or event was linked to making money. If so, here’s your second or even third chance to try again, restart a conversation, reapply for a job and generally get money matters sorted out. It suggests that fast action and taking the initiative are what’s required and will create quick results.

This is especially important as the first half of the month may still be slow-going with a financial venture. The Full Moon on the 6th cuts across your money axis and the Sun and Saturn oppose one another across the money axis of your chart on the 15th. This is about working within your limitations and dealing with authority or someone in a position of responsibility who’s holding you back. You have to take things slowly, especially with money that’s tied up with other people or institutions.

This is why it’s doubly important to take advantage of the Mercury/Uranus connection on the 22nd to focus on your own money-making ability and the chance to grab a quick buck.

Finally, Venus is on the move and on the 3rd moves into Gemini, the sign at the base of your chart. This puts the spotlight on your home and family, your roots and where you come from. Venus will spend an unusually long time in this part of your chart as, from 15th May – 27th June, Venus turns retrograde. So if there’s something you want to make progress with that’s linked to your family, your home or your past, get to it and sort things out this month and in the first half of May. The stars are urging you to reconnect with family and make time for your loved ones. Venus is, after all, the planet of love and good times, so appreciate your loved ones, remember those you’ve lost and reconnect with family you haven’t seen for some time.
