The last of three Saturn conjunctions this month is currently underway as Mercury in Scorpio meets up with Saturn in Scorpio overnight [exact: Wednesday 26th November 02:37 GMT].
Mercury rules communication and the mind and Saturn is the get real planet. Put the two together and today’s stars have a serious overtone which is emphasised by the Moon in Capricorn today and tomorrow (Saturn rules the hard-working sign of Capricorn).
It may be time to hear some hard facts, to say ‘no’ to an opportunity or invitation or to give yourself or others a stern talking to if you’re busy or up against a deadline. Hard work, a strict timetable and facts rather than fiction are Mercury/Saturn’s domain.
It’s not escaped my notice that this important conjunction is building whilst small businesses become more and more agitated over the new VAT rules that will become law in the UK on January 1st 2015.
Saturn rules bureaucracy and in Scorpio, one of the ‘finance’ signs, this ruling is going to affect many people including myself. Basically digital products that are sold online will have to add VAT for each individual country they sell to outside of the UK.
#VATMESS
I do understand that this law is trying to regulate sales from some of the bigger online companies who seem to know all the loopholes to avoid paying their fair share of tax/VAT but for myself and many other people who sell from their websites it’s more than likely to shut us down. I have no idea how to regulate the new VAT laws and I suspect for small businesses like myself we won’t be able to continue selling digitally.
One of the joys of the internet is that I have clients worldwide who pay for my astrology services and ebooks and I would love for that to be able to continue. If you’re on social media, support is building and you too can share your disapproval. Check out the hashtags #vatmoss and #vatmess. Mercury/Saturn says ‘no’ and here’s hoping the message will get across. Follow this link to find out how you can help.
Saturn leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius on December 23rd 2014 and you can read this symbolism two ways. Will the government decide to save the small businesses so they don’t have to limit sales or is Saturn in Sagittarius a symbol of closing down (Saturn) this entrepreneurial global market (Sagittarius)? I hope that such a huge shift from a fixed (Scorpio) to a mutable (Sagittarius) sign means there will be more flexibility so the small businesses aren’t penalised. Time will tell…
