Libra (23 September – 23 October)
It may feel like a case of deja-vu as the month begins. Key planets are at the same point in the zodiac as the recent Solar Eclipse on August 21st and the date to note is the 3rd when Mercury (communication) and Mars (action) meet at 28 Leo, the eclipse degree.
Leo is the sign that rules your friends, groups and associations and it might be time to act or speak up with regard to events a couple of weeks ago. There’s a sense of urgency about this combination and tempers could flare.
Alternatively you might not know the right thing to say or do, perhaps because someone acts out of character or you don’t understand where a friend’s coming from. If anything, your job is to do what a Libra does best, to promote a sense of calm and to find a peaceful solution.
Mars is your partner planet so perhaps it’s your other half who’s on the warpath or reacting impulsively. It’s exciting astrology but also potentially unsettling and it depends on your personal situation whether you try and sort things out or let go and move on.
This all happens a couple of days before Mercury turns direct in Leo on the 5th and this flags up events back in July when Mercury was last in this same sector of chart. At the very least, you should have all the information at your fingertips to take action and anything hidden will come to light.
There might be a big announcement early in the month for a friend or a group in which you’re involved. Or perhaps you want to tag along with other people who are doing well or you feel inspired to join a new group or align yourself with a new best friend.
Venus, your ruling planet, remains in Leo until the 20th so this is a key part of your chart and a good time to focus on friendship. Get the right kind of people on your side and acting on your behalf.
Venus makes some stunning planetary aspects from the 13th to the 18th and this is a time when you can schmooze the right people and make strong connections. Whatever you want to get ahead with, it’s all about lining yourself up with the right network, the right backing. This is a strong opportunity for you to bring a good team of people together to work on your own or other peoples’ goals.
It is important to have good people by your side this month because a lot of the personal planets are now in the sign of Virgo, hidden away in your chart. Virgo is the previous sign to your sign of Libra and this turns your attention inward.
This is about the most personal or hidden sector of your own chart, a time when secrets or confidences are powerful and you discover insights about yourself. However, Virgo can be something of a worrier so take care that you don’t end up fearful about what next.
This could be a time when you’re overthinking or unsure of the future. This might be because of a lack of work or your current job or perhaps issues to do with your health.
The Full Moon on the 6th is important in this respect as it lights up the Virgo/Pisces axis of your chart and pulls in the planet Neptune. Neptune is in your work and health sector and when Neptune’s strong, sometimes you feel as if you’ve lost your way or you go off track. It’s hard to know which way to turn and this could highlight your own indecisive nature.
So take the pace slow, learn to relax and trust your intuition. Write things down if it helps and start to plan for what next. Virgo loves the facts rather than fear and voicing whatever worries you can help a lot.
The Virgo energy is strongest during the New Moon on the 20th as this is when five of the personal planets are in your preceding sign. This includes the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. This New Moon however takes place only two days before the Sun moves into your sign of Libra on the 22nd.
So it may represent a time when you’re letting go, shedding fears, giving up on what no longer works for you. This might be a bad habit, a way of thinking or focusing more on the past than the future. Do whatever feels right for you, any kind of ritual that helps you close a door on the past, especially if you’ve recently experienced some difficulty in your life.
The Sun’s move into Libra on the 22nd is the first step in the right direction and this coincides with the Equinox and a change of a season. The Sun represents vitality and energy and it can feel like a significant confidence boost when you have the Sun lighting up your sign.
Plus on the 28th, there’s a stunning Jupiter-Uranus planetary aspect taking place. Jupiter, the big planet, is in your sign of Libra where it’s been since September 2016. This connection with Uranus is the third and final encounter between these two planets. They first met over Christmas 2016 and in early March 2017.
They are the freedom planets linked to risk-taking and spontaneous moves. So look at where you want to break free or how you want to expand your experience of life. This might be about a relationship with Uranus in Aries and your relationship sector. Or perhaps it’s about something or someone that holds you back.
Either way, it’s your last chance to make the most of Jupiter in your sign as Jupiter moves out of Libra on October 10th. Whether you want to travel or study or however you want to throw caution to the winds, a well-calculated risk and a feel-good strategy could pay off big-time.
