Libra (23 September – 23 October)
Your ruling planet Venus remains in your sign of Libra until the 7th, ensuring you’re the social butterfly. Venus is at home in Libra, and this feels friendly and sociable. Love too is on the horizon when Venus, the goddess of love, takes up residence in your star sign.
The 3rd is a positive day for love when Venus comes together with Saturn, the planet of commitment. Say what you mean on the 3rd and don’t let love drift.
It’s a different story the following day, however, on the 4th because Venus clashes with Uranus in your opposite sign of Aries. This combination flags up the unexpected, and it can symbolise a split, a decision to move on. As this is also the day of the Full Moon, emotions will run high. Do whatever you need to calm yourself and know that any ultimatums could be final.
The other planet in Libra this month is Mars, the planet of action and passion. This is a good time to focus on your personal goals and aims as Mars is linked to drive and ambition. Pick up the pace of life and get things moving fast.
Mars is your partner planet, and this could be an intriguing month for love and relationships, for various reasons. Firstly, you might find that someone has your back, i.e. a partner is willing to fight for you, defend you in some way or be there for you.
Alternatively, you may feel drawn to someone close and want to help and support them. This is your Libra nature but it feels more significant, even urgent now.
What is especially intriguing about this month’s astrology is that once Venus enters Scorpio on the 7th, Venus and Mars are each in other’s sign of rulership. This is a mutual love fest going on as the two planets are weakened on their own but strong together. So hook up with other people and don’t feel that you have to do everything on your own. If you’ve given more than your fair share of late, take a step back and ask someone else to pick up the slack.
Mars makes only one planetary aspect this month and it’s potentially challenging. This takes place on the 19th when Mars clashes with Pluto in Capricorn, down at the base of your horoscope. Capricorn rules your home and family, your past and where you come from and this could be a definitive date for these areas of your life.
You could be ready to let go of a property deal or perhaps there are issues regarding family, your own or your in-laws. It’s not an easy combination as Pluto negates what it touches and Mars is argumentative. Try not to get overly involved in a difficult or testing situation and only step in, if it will help rather than hinder. The 21st is important in this respect.
Certainly this is a month when communication picks up. This is because talk planet, Mercury, enters Sagittarius and your communication sector on the 5th where it remains until January 10, 2018.
Mercury normally whizzes through the zodiac but it’s in Sagittarius for a long time because it turns retrograde next month, from December 3rd to the 23rd. So it’s important to get busy now and get on top of administration, filing, your list of things to do. Pick up the pace in all areas of your life and have those all-important conversations.
Often when you have key planets in Sagittarius, you tend to be busier than usual, whether you’re making more short trips or you’re running around doing errands. You might be occupied with your local community or want to be a voice for other people and get yourself heard.
The Sun joins Mercury on the 22nd and it could be a mad dash to the end of the year. Arrange as much as you can for Christmas or any other major event in advance and notch up your level of communication. This might apply to sales and marketing too, and it’s a good month to start a new promotion for 2018.
There’s another planet also in Sagittarius and this is Saturn, the taskmaster of the heavens. Saturn entered this part of your horoscope late 2014 and it moves on at the end of this year, 2017. You may have been dealing with an ongoing project that’s been slow or painful or perhaps you’ve had your head down studying.
This month, there’s the possibility of release or movement especially once Saturn teams up with Uranus in Aries on the 11th. This is a major planetary aspect and these two planets came together on December 25, 2016, again on May 19, 2017 and this is their third and final connection.
This highlights communication, education and your 1-to-1 relationships both personal and professional. This combination often brings about a breakthrough and it’s a good time to make a push for something in your life that’s important to you.
You might find a partner steps in to help you or perhaps you look at a situation in a new way. Uranus is innovative and linked to technology. This may be about starting a website or using technology to find things out or advertise what you’re doing. It’s not about starting over but instead, the theme is renewal or reinvention. Look out for someone with technological skills who can help you make swift progress.
Finally this month, money is a major theme as both the Full Moon on the 4th and the New Moon on the 18th light up the finance sectors of your horoscope. In addition, your ruler Venus is in Scorpio from the 7th and there’s a brilliant planetary connection between Venus and lucky Jupiter on the 13th.
This combination usually happens only once a year so make the most of it. It promises abundance and is ideal for risk-taking, speculation or a lucky break. It’s high time to make the most of your money and if you’ve been waiting for money to land in your lap, news around the middle of the month could be the breakthrough you need. You can make your money go further too this month, by teaming up with someone you trust implicitly.
Hi Sally
Thank you for this post.
Venus conjunct Jupiter also trine Neptune on 13/11/2017. Could this be deceiving? I have planned to sign a deal with the injury lawyers. Please reply.
Thank you kindly
I don’t think it’s deceiving. Venus is conjunct Jupiter on the 13th and trine Neptune on the 16th. Both are positive planetary aspects. Good luck
Thank you Sally.
