Libra (23 September-23 October)
Your ruler Venus makes a significant move this month into the earth sign Capricorn down at the base of your chart. This takes place on the 5th but what’s interesting about this development is the fact that Venus will remain here for four months until early March 2014.
This is because Venus turns retrograde just before Christmas which is why it’s spending an unusually time in the sector of your chart that rules, home, family, your past and where you come from.
Venus feels rooted in Capricorn and you may find that home and family are somehow linked to duty or responsibility. There are a few celebrity Librans about to give birth (Kate Winslet and Gwen Stefani to name two) and of course that’s one way that you may need to stay home more and be responsible for a (new) family member.
There may be someone older who you need to care for in the family or you find yourself in the midst of home DIY, getting the place ready for Christmas perhaps or a visit from relatives. Certainly be aware that your focus is going to be on domestics and home and family affairs now and over the next few months. There may be a trip down memory lane on the cards or a chance to reconnect with family from your past.
Mars, the action planet, is hidden away in your chart this month too as it’s in Virgo, the sign before yours in the zodiac where it remains all month. This spells retreat or a need to find more quiet time in what could turn out to be a busy month. Hopefully you’re not incapacitated in any way or confined to barracks but Mars in Virgo turns your attention inward.
If you’re married or in a relationship, you may find that you and your other half want or need to stay home more than usual, whether you’re looking after a new baby or saving money and trying to spend less. The two of you are in this together which is a good thing in that you’re reading from the same page but it doesn’t feel the most exciting month for love and relationships.
It’s steady and you may both be busier than usual and find that you don’t have as much time and energy for each other as you’d like. If you’re working towards a common goal and have a deadline for this, then it will feel easier. If not, keep the lines of communication open and talk about things, especially if there’s anything worrying you.
The most challenging time comes on or around the 15th when Venus clashes with the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square. You may know by now what this is about in your own life as the two outer planets dominate our skies from 2010-2015 and they represent change, but not always in a way you appreciate. If your birthday’s on the 1st/2nd October you’re in the line of fire but all Librans benefit by being aware that when Pluto is involved you often have to close a door on the past before you can move on. This links not only to close relationships for you, perhaps an ex, but also to your family and your past.
Money continues to be foreground in your life and your personal values and what’s important to you. There may be huge developments with regard to cash and money matters this month as not only does Mercury turn direct in your cash sector on the 10th but there’s a solar eclipse in Scorpio and your cash sector on the 3rd.
A solar eclipse is effectively a New Moon but with extra oomph as it connects to the karmic nodes in your chart. Usually big events play out on or around eclipses and they have a similar theme to Mercury turning direct in that what’s hidden often comes to light. If you or someone close has been keeping a secret about money or hasn’t been speaking up, then expect events to unfold early in November. This is of course your cue to initiate action and to start things afresh and once you have the news you’ve been waiting for or the relevant information you can begin making plans.
It depends on your personal situation what this might mean for you whether you’re dealing with debts, you’re saving for something special or you’re juggling household expenses. With Saturn in Scorpio also in the mix, you can’t avoid hard work when it comes to money and the effort you put in will be rewarded, however difficult at the time.
This is an excellent month to get good advice if you need it and to gather information that can help you. Mercury teams up with other planets throughout the month so make phone calls, write letters, arrange meetings and get the ball rolling when it comes to improving your financial situation.
November’s not the easiest or lightest of months astrologically which is why it’s even more important to make life special on a daily level and to ensure you get your fair quota of fun, love and laughter. The Sun moves into Sagittarius on the 22nd which feels easier and next month you’ll be fully in the swing of things on the run up to Christmas. If you’re in need of a really good night out, then pencil in the 30th of this month for good company, a date or high kicks.
