Libra (23 September – 23 October)

May’s astrology carries on from what’s been happening recently in your life. This is due to two factors. Firstly, the fact that communication planet Mercury is completing its journey through Aries and your relationship sector. Secondly, action planet Mars is completing its journey through Capricorn and your home and family sector.

There may be an urgency in these areas of your life or perhaps you’re dealing with arguments or disruption. You might not even be directly involved but instead, be around people who are squabbling or be witness to difficult events.

It feels heated and over-the-top and this planetary activity dominates the first two weeks of the month. Therefore, it’s interesting what your planet Venus is up to during this same period. Venus is currently in your fellow air sign Gemini so you may have decided to jet off on holiday or throw yourself into a period of study or learning.

Gemini rules the bigger picture in life and a philosophical approach to any tricky relationships will serve you well. There’s a wistful quality to your personal astrology early May and you need to allow yourself to dream, wander and be inspired. 

The middle of the month is incredibly dynamic and the period from the 13th to the 19th is a time when you can expect some major change in your life. This is because of a host of planets changing star sign, as people either enter or exit your life, perhaps in dramatic fashion.

Firstly, communication planet Mercury leaves Aries behind on the 13th. Before it does so, however, it makes one final connection with the innovative and unconventional planet Uranus. Uranus has been in Aries and your relationship sector since 2011 but changes star sign on the 15th. Tthe Mercury/Uranus combination two days earlier could prove to be exciting.

In fact, one conversation might change everything, whether you’re back with an ex, you swap partners or you actively choose celibacy. It’s highly unlikely that your current relationship situation will remain the same from the start of May to the end of May and the mid-month period is pivotal.

Admittedly, Uranus returns to Aries from November 2018 to March 2019 but then it’s gone for another eighty-four years. Take note of any significant comings and goings mid-May and know that this could be a lively time for you.

Plus, your partner planet Mars is on the move as it enters your fellow air sign Aquarius on the 16th. Aquarius rules all the good things in life, such as romance, creativity, children and pregnancy, entertainment and luck. Mars in Aquarius puts the fun factor back into your life in a big way.

This is an indication that things could move swiftly when it comes to love and relationships and there’s no set scenario. Again, it feels as if anything goes and you might not be the only one making sudden and unexpected decisions.

As the planets leave behind Aries, they enter Taurus and this is important too. The Sun is here until the 21st, Mercury is in Taurus from the 13th to the 29th and the big move is Uranus’ move into Taurus on the 15th.

The 15th is also the day of a stunning New Moon in Taurus, a symbol of new beginnings. Taurus rules joint finances and shared resources in your horoscope and is linked to the metaphysical realm and hidden or taboo issues.

Money may come your way unexpectedly mid-month or perhaps you receive an inheritance, a tax rebate or a major financial transaction takes place. Certainly, there’s the possibility of money coming in and fast. 

This would fit with Jupiter’s transit through Scorpio and your personal money sector. Jupiter’s the big planet, protective and all-giving. Plus, on the 25th, Jupiter in Scorpio aligns with Neptune in Pisces and your work sector. 

This combination is a charitable one but it suggests being in flow. It’s an excellent time to have faith that you’ll be provided for and, in some cases, this could spell a windfall. 

At the same time, you have Venus, your ruler, moving into water sign Cancer on the 19th. Venus immediately connects with Uranus in Taurus, making a perfect link between the two planets highlighting work and money sectors of your horoscope.

If you’re in a position to help others out, either emotionally or financially, this would be an ideal time to do so. Plus, there’s a sense that what you give, you receive in return. Certainly, it’s important to create relationships in your life which are mutually supportive, whether a joint venture or another form of collaboration.

This could be when you become involved in an initiative that turns out to be incredibly fulfilling and helpful on many different levels, for you and the other people concerned.

Towards the end of the month you’re being pulled in different directions. You are going to have the planets Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and your home and family sector for a few years yet. This is about your roots, whether you’re laying strong foundations or you’re saying goodbye to the past in some shape or form. This will become evident when Venus clashes with Saturn on the 26th.

Finally, the Full Moon on the 29th promises travel once again or a desire to broaden your horizons. Make the most of this Full Moon and plan to do something unusual or different. It’s an excellent Full Moon for passing a test or exam.
