Libra (23 September – 23 October)

The emphasis is on the sign of Cancer as the month begins and this highlights the top of your chart, linked to career and vocation, your future and where you’re heading in life.

Your ruling planet Venus is in Cancer until the 12th, in addition to Mercury (communication) until the 14th and the Sun (identity) until the 22nd. This is the time to consider what next in your life and to focus on work and career progress.

In many respects, this is a month when you’re in flow with regard to these areas of life and if anything, events on or around the New Moon in Cancer on the 4th will prove pivotal. Look out for new opportunities which come into your life on or around this date. A new job or contract and look for something which is less stressful rather than more.

Being a Sun Libra, you need balance in your life to function well so even though you are one of life’s leaders and you can do well at the top, you’re happiest when there’s a healthy flow between work and play.

This is a good time to join forces with other people to further a common goal and teamwork is highlighted with Venus, the planet of relating, in your work and career sector. In fact, if you’re looking for love early this month, it’s via your work that you’re most likely to meet someone new. The lovers of the heavens, Venus and Mars, come together on the 6th, promising a time of unity and togetherness.

Action planet Mars is also powerful this month and Mar is in Scorpio and your personal money sector. After 10 weeks retrograde or on go slow, this is a big month for money matters. You might be able to make money quickly or money that’s been on hold finally appears.

You do have to be ruthless as well as ambitious to make the most of this powerful Mars transit so fight for what’s rightfully yours and focus on your financial independence rather than relying on other people for help or support.

What takes place this month could also be related to events earlier in the year as Mars is currently retracing its steps through the zodiac. Look back to the second half of February in particular and whatever took place back then. This is your chance to get ahead and focus again on a money-making project or a financial matter that dominated your life in the first two months of the year.

The Full Moon on the 19th is a pivotal date for you and this is linked not only to your working life but your home and family as well. This is a time when you’ll want to lay down strong foundations and it’s often a time when you see your own situation clearly. Do whatever’s right for you and your family on this date. An important home or family-related issue could come to completion during the Full Moon phase.

You might find however that someone close is in opposition to whatever you’re trying to achieve or making life difficult for you. This will be most evident on the 1st and 7th when Pluto in Capricorn opposes key planets in Cancer and your work sector.

It’s hard to focus on your future goals when you feel tied or indebted to the past but look closely at someone’s inner motivations for wanting to hold you back. Life’s calling you forward now and it’s not the time to let other people decide your destiny.

On the 12th, your ruling planet Venus leaves Cancer and enters Leo, one of the most social sectors of your chart. Leo rules friendship and group activities and this is the ideal time to reach out to other people and spread your net wide.

When planets are in Leo, there’s a lot to enjoy in life and being a Sun Libra, you’re happiest when you have a thriving social life. It’s not just about having fun however and there might be another reason why you currently want to join forces with a group of like-minded people who have similar beliefs to your own.

You’re at your best when you’re backing a good cause and you can make a difference in the world. Whether your agenda is political, community-oriented, environmental or humanitarian, there’s strength in numbers and you’ll feel more fulfilled when you’re doing something meaningful with your life.

Wherever you’re being called forth, explore your options and see where you want to take action. Peace and harmony are your inner motivators and you’ll often work hard to achieve common goals and aims which better your world.

On a personal level, the second half of July is more unpredictable and this is due to the planet Uranus in your opposite sign of Aries. Aries rules your relationship sector and with Uranus resident in this part of your chart for some years, this highlights unconventional relationships or sudden relationship stops and starts.

It doesn’t make for a steady love life and as Uranus turns retrograde this month on the 29th, events on or around this date could prove lively. Whether you’re ready to move on or deliver a proposition, it’s a go-for-it period but note too that other people might behave out of character or in unexpected ways.

Sometimes it’s good to ring the changes and enliven your love life but Uranus sometimes suggests that change is on its way, ready or not. On September 9th 2016, the planet of opportunity and growth, Jupiter, will enter your sign of Libra when it’s your turn to step into the spotlight.
