Libra (23 September – 23 October)
This is likely to be a month of highs and lows and you may find you’re constantly having to realign your Libra scales. This is par for the course when you enter the New Year and it’s eclipse month. This is because eclipses are game-changers and often bring what’s hidden to light.
On the 6th, there’s a Solar or New Moon Eclipse in Capricorn. Then, on the 21st, there’s a Lunar or Full Moon Eclipse cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac.
Therefore, in the first week of the month, the spotlight turns to home and family affairs, potentially bringing dramatic activity or a turn of events. It’s important not to jump to conclusions, especially close to the Solar Eclipse date.
Be aware, however, that other people won’t necessarily do what you want or unexpected events will have a knock-on effect in your own life. Be there for family but don’t let family take control of you.
It’s a tough line up of planets during the Solar Eclipse as the Sun and Moon are wedged between Saturn and Pluto. This might flag up a situation that you can’t change or perhaps duty and responsibility weigh heavy upon you. This could bring a property move to a halt or caring for family members takes a lot of your time, energy and patience.
It’s important to realise your limitations, accept what you can’t change and be committed to how or where you can be of service and create strong foundations for you and your family. This is a new eclipse cycle that began in July 2018 and completes in July 2020.
It’s about home and family and your past but also your career and vocation and where you’re heading in life. The emphasis in January, however, is on the past and dealing with home and family issues. You need to create a safe base or get the foundations of your life sorted before you leap into anything new.
Both eclipses in January could flag up issues around close relationships. The Lunar or Full Moon eclipse on the 21st takes place once the Sun has moved into Aquarius and your romance sector on the 20th. Plus, both eclipses take place when Uranus, the planet of change, is active.
Uranus returned to Aries and your relationship sector on November 6th 2018 where it remains until March 6th 2019. On January 6th, Uranus turns direct in Aries, the same day as the Solar Eclipse. This combination feels volatile and could reveal a split in the family or create some kind of divide.
Your family and partner may not get on well or you’re pulled between an ex and a current partner. It’s a similar vibe to the Lunar Eclipse on the 21st, because the Sun and Moon are square to Uranus on this date.
Relationships have the potential to be exciting as the new year gets underway but they’re complex too. Be aware that it will be hard for you to keep everyone happy, as much as you like to avoid conflict and please others. That is, if you’re typical of your Sun sign Libra.
Relationships are definitely big news this month and one possibility is that romance could sweep you off your feet and change everything. This is because, on the 1st, New Year’s Day, action planet Mars enters your opposite star sign Aries and Mars is your partner planet.
Mars adds passion to life and love although it can bring more arguments too. If you’re caught up in a love triangle, this brings added drama to events in January. This is where your skills of diplomacy and negotiation are going to be much needed in the month ahead. It may be your own relationship situation that you need to sort out or perhaps you’re stepping in to mediate for other people.
Your ruling planet Venus is on hand in this respect as it changes star sign on the 7th. In the first week of January, Venus completes its long journey through Scorpio and your personal money sector. Whatever you’ve been dealing with since early September 2018, this brings completion. It’s an ideal time to find a resolution to an ongoing financial issue or pay off a debt or cut any ties that bind.
Venus moves into Sagittarius on the 7th and your communication sector. Loving words will benefit you and the people close to you. Be kind, caring and generous. This is another cosmic hint that you’re the one who needs to offer the olive branch of peace or reach out to others to heal a rift, to calm or inspire.
Venus joins Jupiter, the biggest planet, in Sagittarius and this is special to have the two best planets in the same sector of the horoscope. This is where opportunity lies.
Venus and Jupiter working together in Sagittarius are gorgeous for networking, all forms of communication and reaching out to other people. It’s a sign that connections are going to play a powerful role in your life not only this month but throughout 2019.
Whether you become a whizz on social media or you become an influencer out in the world or in your local community, team up with other people. You can be both a student and a teacher under this planetary influence.
One of the best dates of the year for you is the 22nd of this month, when your ruler Venus sits side-by-side with Jupiter. This is brilliant for all forms of networking, presenting, speaking and writing. It spells good news for your relationship with siblings and neighbours too.
If you want to take a leap of faith, this is the date to do so. Shoot your arrows high into the sky and see where they land. Jupiter is linked to travel, foreign connections, education and study, publishing and the media. It’s a powerful date for you to take a risk and win.
