Libra December 2017

winter, Libra

Libra (23 September – 23 October)

It’s potentially a tricky start to December as there’s a major planetary clash on the 1st between Mars in Libra and Uranus in Aries. This is not a good date for 1-to-1 negotiations and in fact, this whole combination feels volatile and angry.

As Mars is your partner planet, it’s best to avoid the 1st for relationship matters. Know too that someone in your life could behave impulsively on or around this date or exhibit bad behaviour. You might also decide you’ve had enough of a relationship that’s unreliable and unpredictable.

In many respects, this is the month to seek out all that’s new. The more sociable you are, the more fun you can expect. Your ruler Venus is in Sagittarius and your communication sector from the 1st to the 25th. This is gorgeous for making the most of life close to home and within your community, Catch up with siblings and neighbours too in the run up to the festive period.

The Sun is also in Sagittarius until the 21st and the Full Moon on the 3rd and New Moon on the 18th cut across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis of the zodiac. This highlights social events in your horoscope so attend a talk, accept a party invitation or make new friends.

Do whatever works for you but there’s no excuse not to socialise and get to know people who live close by or whom you see regularly on your daily commute. You benefit from fresh stimulus and new ideas and it’s important to stay curious and listen to what other people have to say as this is where you’ll find your inspiration.

When it comes to love, keep it light and lively rather than too serious. There are some top dates for flirting or romantic dates and the 15th and 20th look gorgeous for new romance or having fun with your other half.

There is one note of caution, however, and this is the fact that communication planet Mercury is retrograde in Sagittarius from December 3rd to 23rd. This is often a time of miscommunication or misunderstandings and it’s important to be flexible and go with the flow. Allow yourself plenty of time to get from A to B and double check important meetings, get-togethers or arrangements.

As long as you take Mercury retrograde in your stride and keep your sense of humour, there’s much enjoyment to be had in this most sociable month of the year. Note, Mercury retrograde is not the best time to take a test or exam and put off signing up for a new course until the 23rd if possible. Plans often change once Mercury’s back up to speed and only then is the truth or real picture revealed.

The planet Mars speeds up as the month progresses and it moves into Scorpio and your money sector on the 9th. There’s an urgency to financial matters once Mars is in this sector of your horoscope and you may want to move fast so you can improve your earnings or your financial situation.

Mars joins the planet of opportunity and good fortune, Jupiter, in Scorpio and this same sector of your horoscope. This feels lucky for you although you do have to take care not to be overly generous or spend money before it’s in your pocket.

This is especially important while the trickster planet Mercury is on go slow. You’re wise to check your impulsiveness and ensure that when you give, you can afford it and that you’re doing it for the right reasons.

There’s a gorgeous planetary aspect between Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces on the 3rd and this combination will continue for a large part of 2018. Both planets are boundless and giving and there’s a charitable feel to their connection.

You might be involved in a fundraiser at work or want to use your money in a way that’s helpful and kind. This could include gifting charities or buying charity gifts as presents for your loved ones.

There’s an abundant vibe to Jupiter and Neptune together and alongside Mars’ ambition, this is a month to be in flow with money, to attract what you need and to replace fear with faith, and doubt with hope.

The big planetary move in 2018 concerns Saturn, the taskmaster of the heavens, which moves into Capricorn down at the base of your chart on the 20th. This turns your attention to your home and family, your roots and your past, and where you come from.

It signals the need for some serious thought in these areas, whether this concerns caring for a parent, your own security or putting down roots. If it’s money you need to talk about, the 3rd and 28th of the month are the best dates.

Saturn remains in Capricorn until 2020, so this is about being patient and building for the future. This is where the hard work starts as Saturn rarely gives you anything for free. It is the planet of commitment and self-discipline after all. Saturn often necessitates big decisions when you have to deal with the more serious side of life. Take your time if necessary and consider all the options available to you.

Once the Sun and Venus, your ruler, join Saturn in Capricorn on the 21st and 25th respectively, you can make an important decision. The Sun and Saturn connect on the 21st and your ruler, Venus, and Saturn are in alignment on the 25th, a significant date in many respects.

This could potentially be an emotional time for you, especially if you’re taking a trip down memory lane. Whatever decisions you make going forward, essentially it’s about doing what’s best for you and your family to create a more secure and settled way of life.

Certainly, there will be times over the festivities and holiday period when you want an outlet from the big decisions. There’s fun to be had as long as you create the time for this to happen. All in all, December is a wonderful month to meet new people and try out new activities. Balance the more dutiful and responsible side of life with fun and friendship.
