Leo (23 July-22 August)
This is not a month to charge forward with great gusto as you’re in a gestation period and if anything you need to start tying up loose ends and slow life down in preparation for what’s to come.
The ‘what’s to come’ is Jupiter, the luckiest planet in the heavens, which enters your sign of Leo on July 16th where it remains for one year. This is a once-in-a-12 year cycle and well worth making the most of. Jupiter represents freedom, adventure, inspiration, happiness and doing more of what you love.
For now, Jupiter is in your previous sign of Cancer, turning your attention inward, adding a spiritual edge to your life or urging you to reassess where you’re heading and why. This theme intensifies throughout June as Mercury, planet of the mind, is also in Cancer as the month begins and on the 7th Mercury turns retrograde. If you’re mulling things over as June begins, you’ll become even more introverted and/or introspective as June progresses.
Mercury retrograde periods change the goalposts, what’s final isn’t final and it’s often hard to make a clear decision. This can either be because you’re waiting on other people, there’s a hold up with information or news or you’re simply finding it hard to think straight. So give yourself a break and create more quiet time to be still and let your inner voice emerge. As Mercury remains on go slow until July 1st, this is the key message throughout June and patience is key.
Friends will be there for you especially whilst the Sun is in Gemini up until the day of the Summer Solstice the 21st. Lean on your friends and ask their advice but again don’t feel as things have to be set in stone. You’re weighing up different options now and looking at a problem or an issue from all sides. Let it be ok if the answers don’t appear immediately.
Some of you will find that you’re in the process of making a big decision about a friend, a group or a network in which you’re involved. Mercury moves back into your friendship sector on the 17th and until the end of the month, you’re deciding whether to end your association with a club or group or sense that you and a friend are moving apart. Put off the final decision until July 1st, a date when new information comes to light.
The Mercury retrograde phase is often lively for reconnecting with old friends, a school reunion or a childhood sweetheart so wait and see who pops up out of the woodwork. If you feel so inclined, this is a great time to reconnect with someone from your past especially if you know that a conversation would help you put the past to rest in some way or other. The 19th is an especially pertinent date to have an important conversation.
When it comes to work, turn to people who can help you, especially a woman, either your boss or an influential female. It’s not what you know but who you know and you’re more successful dealing with the bigger picture at work rather than getting too caught up in the details.
The weekend of the 13th-15th could be challenging however and for some it’s time to lay down clear boundaries with regard to work. Be realistic about your own limitations and don’t let someone else take advantage of your generous nature. If you’re ready to let go of a job or work contract, this is the weekend that nudges you in the right direction. Bide your time until the end of the month if you can but take note of what happens mid-month as this is the pivotal weekend.
It’s also worth saving your energy rather than getting involved in an argument that’s going round in circles. On the 14th and the 25th be aware that if you speak your mind, what you say will have consequences. This is a repeat situation that links back to Christmas and New Year 2013 and Easter 2014, especially 22nd/23rd April. This is the final hoorah, the last battle but it’s not an easy energy and there is an option to either admit defeat, to retreat or not to get involved. It’s your shout but know that the situation is changing and come July, you’ll be ready to move on. Again it could be a case of tying up loose ends so you’re ready for a new adventure in a month’s time.
Finally, when it comes to love, wait and see what happens is probably your best bet. It’s hard to get clear about your own wants and needs when Mercury’s on go slow and as new information will come to light once Mercury turns, you’re wise to bide your time. It’s the same message that links different areas of your life in June. Think endings, complete a cycle and be patient. Your turn in the spotlight is only a month away.
