Leo (23 July-22 August)
A host of green lights ensures that July is going to be a month to remember. The big news is Jupiter, the planet of luck, opportunity and good fortune, which moves into your sign of Leo on July 16th where it remains until August 11th 2015.
This lucky planetary transit happens a few days before the Sun enters your sign of Leo on the 22nd. So what will Jupiter offer you when it’s in your sign of the zodiac? Jupiter is the biggest planet in the heavens and represents all that’s expansive in life. This is the planet of freedom, letting go of ties that bind and anything (or anyone) who holds you back in life.
When Jupiter’s in full flow, you want to see the world and save the world. Jupiter rules travel, education, spirituality, philosophy and philanthropic activities. Choose your pick. What’s not advised when Jupiter is strong in your chart is to play small or stay close to home. Jupiter rewards bold behaviour and loves the free-spirit, the explorer, the entrepreneur, the lover of life.
Notice what takes place on the 24th when your ruler the Sun sits next to Jupiter in the heavens. This is a super-powerful connection and as Jupiter expands whatever it touches, be fully yourself and have complete integrity with who you and what you believe in. Jupiter rules the truth and justice so stake your claim, be loud and proud, show up and be one of life’s players. Declare your intentions and follow through.
Two days later on the 26th, there’s a New Moon in Leo, a symbol of new beginnings and a perfect date to make a wish and let the universe know who you are, what you want and what you have to offer. The weekend of the 25th/26th is wonderful to do something special, whether it’s a grand party and celebration or you take part in a big event, a conference or workshop. Leo rules fun, play and celebration as much as it does taking the lead and being the boss or the star of the show. It’s a great weekend for a Leo birthday party.
There will be significant development with a friend or group of people as July begins as Mercury turns direct in Gemini, the sign that rules friendship in your chart on the 1st. If you’ve been waiting to hear news, this is a sign that information comes to light which helps to inform you and hopefully inspire you.
There’s a chance to reconnect with a friend or a group and move things forward in an amicable way. Venus, Goddess of love, is in Gemini until the 18th so love and friendship go hand in hand. This is a month when two’s company and you’re as happy chatting to a loved one as anything else.
Laughter and entertainment not only boost a relationship but your social life too. Introduce a lover to your friends or arrange some fun times with colleagues and people close to you. If you’re looking for love, note in your diary the 7th and the 13th. Venus kisses Uranus on the 7th offering you spontaneity in love and Venus and Mars cosy up on the 13th, a wonderful day for harmonious relationships. Think reconnection, second chances and enjoy the people you’re with.
There’s a sense that you have loose ends to tie up this month and if you’ve been avoiding a conversation or putting off a major decision, perhaps to do with your work or health, here’s your opportunity.
There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, Mars the action planet is in Libra ruling communication in your chart and Mars has been lingering for rather too long in the sign of relationships. This has been going on since December 2013 but Mars is picking up speed now and exits Libra on July 26th. Use this planetary transit to take the initiative or pick up the phone or send that text or email. There’s a chance to sort out any misunderstandings and to get back on good terms wherever there’s been discord or conflict.
Secondly, the Sun your ruler is in Cancer, hidden away in your chart until the 22nd. Again this creates a theme of endings and completion. This is especially evident on or around the Full Moon on the 12th which cuts across the Cancer-Capricorn axis of your chart. This is a good date to make a final decision with regard to work, a health or personal issue.
The planets moving through Cancer this month pick up the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square that has dominated the heavens since 2012. The Sun clashes with these two outer planets from the 4th-8th, it’s Mercury’s turn from the 22nd-25th and finally Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto on the 28th.
See this as a letting-go process. It’s about getting rid of whatever’s old, outdated or toxic in your life and in its place bring in new energy that feels rejuvenating. This is about letting go of a plan to travel or study that’s not worked out or a job that’s past its sell-by date or a company that no longer wants to employ you.
It may be your attitude to your body or fitness and getting rid of anything that doesn’t benefit your health and support your well-being. Sometimes you have to wipe the slate clean in order to begin again. Uranus is the planet of reinvention and alongside Jupiter’s move into Leo, there’s a clear message that it’s time to put the past behind you and embrace a bright new future. Jupiter’s move into Leo is the best birthday present you could wish for.
