Leo (23 July – 22 August)
April’s a lively month astrologically as soon as it gets underway. The major planetary configuration is a Lunar Eclipse which takes place on the 4th during the Easter weekend.
This eclipse cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of your chart so this might be about education or knowledge; your beliefs, what gives your life meaning; the bigger picture; travel or new experiences.
These are the areas highlighted by the eclipse and in one or more of these areas you’re ripe for change and doing things differently.
For some, this might feel as if it’s a crisis moment, that you’re at a crossroads and the decisions you make now will reverberate for some time to come. Whether to study, whether to move abroad, whether to teach, whether to follow a new spiritual or religious path, etc.
What makes this eclipse particularly powerful is that it falls at 14 Libra/Aries and therefore links in to last month’s Uranus-Pluto square. So this isn’t likely to be an easy or straightforward decision and with Pluto in Capricorn, this might impact on your everyday lifestyle, your work or your health. It might help to look back to October 8th 2014 when there was a similar eclipse at 15 Aries/Libra. What took place back then can guide you in making the right decision now.
Eclipse symbolism is often shadowy as it brings what’s hidden to light. This might include your real motivation or what your heart wants as opposed to what your mind wants. Take your time with any important decision as tradition states that you’re wise to wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action.
One other planet in the mix is Mercury, the planet of communication, in fiery Aries so you can expect a heated debate or an urgency or impulsiveness to get things sorted. Take a deep breath before you launch in and speak your mind.
Yet however unsettling or risky things feel during the eclipse, there is another planetary factor that suggests you’re on the verge of something very special. If this is about playing big versus playing small, once the eclipse dies down, you might well be ready to take a big leap in life. The reason for this is because you have Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, in your own sign of Leo and Jupiter is active during eclipse week.
The 2nd looks glorious for you when Jupiter is in a stunning fire sign trine aspect to your ruler the Sun in Aries; plus Mercury in Aries trines Jupiter in Leo on the 6th and then finally on the 8th Jupiter turns direct at 12 Leo. Whatever you’re dealing with in your own life that links in to the areas mentioned above, have faith, be positive and trust in your heart. Once Jupiter turns direct on the 8th, it’s full steam ahead until Jupiter leaves your sign in August 2015. Pursue a personal goal, follow your passion and be ambitious and bold.
Jupiter is the planet of freedom and opportunity and you don’t want to let anything hold you back. This might mean that it’s time to move on from an everyday role that no longer serves you or to prioritise your well-being and your health and put your own personal needs first.
There’s another reason why you may be ready to take a step up this month because the personal planets are gathering in Taurus, the sign at the top of your chart. Taurus rules your career and your vocation and throughout the month of April, this is where the action’s at. Mars is the action planet and it remains in Taurus throughout April.
You can expect to be busy with Mars in this sector of your chart. At times work might feel relentless and one thing Mars can’t do in Taurus is make things happen quickly. This is more of a slow, steady, productive slog but it can’t be denied that you’re currently powerful and should push for what you want.
Things start to feel a little easier mid-month onwards as Mercury enters Taurus on the 14th followed by your ruler the Sun on the 20th. Both planets make a positive aspect to Neptune in one of your money sectors and this feels as if work and money are in flow. This is very different to last month’s stars which hinted at a blind spot around money or a potential cash crisis.
The powerhouse dates for you in April are the 21st and 22nd. If you’re wanting to speak to a person of influence, head straight to the top and do whatever’s necessary to let people know that you’re more than capable of running the show.
There is some lightness and fun available too in April as Venus, the love planet, enters sociable Gemini on the 11th. On the 22nd and the weekend of the 25th/26th grab at a chance or opportunity to do something different with the one you love. If a last minute trip or event is on the cards, it gets the thumbs up.
You might still be dealing with matters that relate to an ex or a child’s welfare and in this respect money can be a sensitive issue but on the whole, Venus in Gemini is an invitation to hang out with friends you love and people who help you feel positive and inspired. A holiday or day trip with your girlfriends is highly recommended.
