Leo (23 July – 22 August)
One of the more blessed planets in the heavens, Venus, has spent the best part of five months in your sign of Leo since early June.
Admittedly, Venus was retrograde or on go slow for six weeks from July 25th until September 6th, but this month Venus finally exits Leo on the 8th.
So you have one more week of Venusian energy at the start of October. Make the most of it, revel in love, treat yourself and the ones you love. The focus is on you with Venus in your sign and the perfect time to boost your feel good factor with a beauty treatment, spending spree or anything else which you know makes you look good and feel good. This is the perfect opportunity to be self-oriented and consider what makes you happy.
Once Venus has left your sign, it’s back to business and time to deal with more worldly issues and mop up after the recent Mercury retrograde period. Mercury starts October on go slow but the day after Venus leaves your sign, Mercury turns direct on the 9th.
This might have been a tricky Mercury retrograde period for you because Mercury is the planet of communication and Mercury is currently in Libra and your communication sector. This is potentially a double whammy of communication chaos, misunderstandings, delays and upheaval.
Whether you found getting from A to B slow going or you’ve found it difficult to get hold of people you need to speak to, there are different ways that Mercury retrograde can play out in your life. Technology might be an issue and misunderstandings and disagreements are often a key part of this important phase.
Once Mercury is back up to speed on the 9th, look out for new information that comes to light. Know too that finally you’re able to get hold of the right person or get moving things moving on the technological front. This is your green light for any important conversation, meeting or interview.
Often when Mercury is in your communication sector, you’re busier than usual and Mercury remains here throughout October. You’re coming and going a lot, you have errands to run, a full ‘to do’ list, it’s a busy time. So pace yourself and do what you can but don’t overload your schedule.
You need to remain flexible too because your plans might continue to change even once Mercury is back up and running after the 9th. This is because of the planet Uranus in your fellow fire sign of Aries.
On the 12th and 25th, Uranus opposes the Sun (your ruler) and Mercury respectively.
Don’t be surprised if someone changes their mind on or around these dates, plans have to be shifted suddenly or someone lets you down. The more adaptable and willing you are, the more you can achieve. Be too rigid or stubborn and you won’t get anywhere.

If you want to initiate a new plan or project, your best date is the 13th when there’s a New Moon in Libra and your communication sector. Plus Mercury teams up with Saturn, the planet of commitment on the same day, and this is the date to iron out any differences and to work towards a mutual agreement.
When key planets are in Libra you have to look at both points of view and you can’t have everything on your own terms. Be willing to negotiate and compromise where necessary.
The best area of your life right now is money and abundance as key planets begin to stack up in this sector of your chart. On the 8th, Venus (relating) joins Mars (action) and Jupiter (opportunity) in Virgo and your personal money sector.
There’s a lot of energy in this part of your chart and most of it feels abundant, wealthy even. Throw yourself into a money-making project with enthusiasm and be generous with your cash. Jupiter is the planet of trust and faith and what you give out, you receive in return.
The 17th and 25th are especially powerful in this respect when Jupiter boosts first Mars and then Venus. You might receive a gift or bonus or feel drawn towards helping someone else out financially.

The Full Moon on the 27th is a powerful omen for your work and career as it falls in the sign of Taurus which rules these sectors of your chart. The Full Moon is a symbol of completion, achievement and plans coming to fruition. It’s a strong date for anything to do with work and status.
Finally this month, your love life could be an either-or choice. Saturn is now back in your fellow fire sign of Sagittarius adding a serious note to romance.
