It’s your birthday month and there’s full on action in your sign of Leo as August begins. Whether you want to or not, this is your turn in the limelight and your chance to take centre stage.
Your ruler the Sun remains in Leo until the 23rd but it’s the first week of the month that’s most powerfully focused on your sign. This is because of the aspects being made by the planet of opportunity Jupiter in your sign.
Jupiter teams up with Venus (love) on the 4th and Mercury (communication) on the 7th. This feels pleasurable, sociable, full of fun. Make the most of life and do more of what you love. Jupiter’s a lucky planet so be spontaneous, take a risk and invoke the Law of Attraction.
Yet even though the astrology’s full on, there’s a sense that someone or something is holding you back. This is because the planet Saturn is in square aspect to the planets in Leo. Saturn rules your home and family sector, it’s the person who opposes your ideas or plans, the one who says ‘no’ to what you want to do.
This might be a clear cut case of wanting to follow your heart v. doing your duty or being responsible. Can you be true to you and take care of your children, parents, the ones you love? It might indicate an inner dilemma as Jupiter is the part of you that shouts YES from the rooftops whereas Saturn is the part of you that says NO, I can’t do it and allows fear or doubt to step in.
Notice carefully where your limitations or restrictions lie early in August and discern whether they are genuine reasons not to live life to the full or whether you do need to let go of a goal or ambition that’s run its course. In some respects, this is about choosing the future over the past and shutting a door on the people/activities that no longer serve you or you them. The first week of the month could prove especially powerful for you.
Plus there’s a sense of urgency about pursuing your personal goals as Mars, the action planet enters Leo on the 8th. It doesn’t matter how much opposition is against you, it doesn’t matter how much fear or doubt you encounter, you can’t let your fearless nature hold you back. That’s what Mars is telling you as this is a confident placing for a motivated Mars. Just make sure that you’re clear about where you’re heading and why.
The New Moon falls in your sign of Leo on the 14th, an excellent date to set your intentions for the year ahead and line up some new personal goals. Your image and appearance are also under the cosmic spotlight with so many planets in your sign of Leo.
Relationships fall under the umbrella of questioning where you’re heading this month and there are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, love planet Venus is retrograde in your sign of Leo. This indicates that your pace is slow rather than quick when it comes to love. Your attention turns inward, you’re more reflective than usual and it’s prime time for a love review. Trust your intuition now and listen out for your inner voice to guide you.
When it comes to love and astrology, you have two planets that represent your partner, Saturn and Uranus. What’s interesting this month is that Saturn is square to (clashing) planets in Leo whereas Uranus is trine to (easy) planets in Leo. Therefore it depends which planet represents your partner as to whether love will flow easily or be a bumpy ride.
Certainly you need spontaneity in your love life to keep things interesting and you’re more likely to be in tune with a partner who’s fun, lively and makes you laugh. If you’re feeling stuck or frustrated in a relationship or marriage, shake things up and do things differently. Be experimental but put off any final decisions until next month when Venus is back up to speed in your sign of Leo.
The biggest news this month is the fact that Jupiter leaves your sign of Leo on the 11th where it’s been since July 2014. Jupiter is the planet of luck and opportunity and also the planet of freedom. At its best, Jupiter is a breath of fresh air and you feel more able to chase your dreams and do whatever makes you happy when Jupiter is in your sign.
Jupiter remains in Virgo for the next 13 months and Jupiter is the sign that rules money, your personal finances and what you value highly. Over the course of the next year, look out for a new opportunity to boost your finances and to lead a wealthier and more abundant lifestyle.
For some, this coincides with a final shift concerning a property or family matter as Saturn is on the move this month after being stuck in Scorpio for most of the last two and a half years. Scorpio is the sign that rules your home and family, your past and where you come from. Saturn is now completing its journey through Scorpio and this indicates you’re at the last hurdle. One final push and you can nail that property, home or family-related matter.
Keep a close eye on what happens towards the end of the month as the Sun, your ruler, and Jupiter connect powerfully in Virgo on the 26th followed by a Full Moon cutting across the Virgo/Pisces axis on the 29th, both positive factors for money and abundance. There’s an entrepreneurial feel about your stars this month and if you want to do things differently or take a less traditional route in your career, now’s the time to embrace a new work path.
Hello Sally 🙂 hope everything is going well since wimbledon 🙂
I have a question for you. Iam a leo sun, scorpio ascending. I have been feeling some effect this year regarding a square saturn -sun and saturn- saturn in some moments as i have both saturn and sun in my 10th house. So this means that it has been even more powerfull due to the fact that iam scorpio ascending or is not related to the fact saturn has been in scorpio? At the same time independently of this i also have been feeling overall confudent things will go better. Should i atribut this feeling to jupiter conjunt sun transit in the last dew months? Sorry to bother with these questions. Iam just curious. Thanks. All the best. 🙂
hi Sam, thanks for your comment. It’s hard to comment without seeing your actual chart but yes, I think what you say is right. Saturn over the Ascendant is a tough transit but as long as your Ascendant is not 27-30 Scorpio, it’s finished and yes, definitely, Jupiter conjunct the Sun in Leo is party time. Celebrate, live life to the full 🙂 Sending best wishes, Sally
Hi Sally, thanks for your reply. 🙂 just to tell you that actually my ascendant is 29 scorpio 🙁 this means still active transit right? For how long? Is it too bad? Sorry to make another question. And many thanks. Wish you the best too 🙂
