Leo (23 July – 22 August)
As April begins, communication planet Mercury is moving forwards in Pisces and your joint finance sector. Mercury was retrograde, i.e. in retreat for most of March in this same sector of your horoscope.
Mercury is now completing its long journey through Pisces until the 17th. This may represent some kind of ‘mopping up’ process. Pisces is one of the water signs and there’s been a theme of confusion and uncertainty around money and values over the last month in particular.
You may have experienced a certain amount of muddle or mess with regard to finances, investments or other cash or money transactions. Wherever there’s been unclarity, now’s the time to feel your way forwards. This isn’t about making quick progress, it’s slow. It’s also a time when you may need to forgive, if not forget.
Money & Emotions
The other planet in Pisces as April gets underway is Venus, the planet of relating. Venus loves being in Pisces, which is very different to Mercury. Pisces is a boundless planet which suits Venus’ archetype of love. Mercury likes things to be exact, just so, and it gets lost in Pisces’ vast watery realm.
You may find that money is an emotional subject for you now. This could be linked to an inheritance, a partnership or a breach of trust. Also, you’re learning lessons about the flow of money and April is a month when you may choose to gift other people in your life.
You have a generous heart being a Sun Leo and now’s the time to share your generosity with others. This is very different to the feel of things last month, when giving didn’t necessarily mean receiving in return.
Generosity & Luck
Also, you have big planet, Jupiter, in one of the luckiest sectors of your horoscope. Jupiter is currently in Sagittarius, a creative and fortunate placing for Jupiter. The big planet is dominant on the 10th when it turns retrograde. From the 10th to the 15th, Jupiter makes key planetary aspects with the inner planets.
This may be a time when you’re ready to take a leap of faith, to trust your instincts. This could be linked to your relationship with a child or lover, or how you enjoy yourself and seek fun and excitement in life. Be clear about your motivations for giving and do so from the heart.
If you’re in a love relationship, this period in the month could be overwhelming, but in a good way. If you’re single, you might meet someone new. If you’re in a relationship, it’s a wonderful time to embrace life to the full.
A New Adventure
Also, this month, you might start thinking about travel, study or what next in your life. The Sun, your ruler, is, in Aries highlighting these areas of your horoscopes up until the 20th.
Perhaps, you’re bored with your work or your job and keen to seek out pastures new. You might be ready to learn more and increase your knowledge. This is your get-out clause, the way to move on from a mundane or stuck situation.
The New Moon falls in Aries on the 5th, an ideal date for new beginnings, planning an adventure or taking off on a trip. Sow seeds on or around the New Moon and see which flourish and grow over the next few weeks.
The Full Moon on the 19th highlights the Aries-Libra axis of the zodiac. This is also about travel, education and any activity which broadens your horizons. If you celebrate Easter, it would be a great weekend to get away and do something special.
Friends & Flare-Ups
Other people could be the catalyst for excitement in your life. Action planet Mars is in Gemini and your friendship sector throughout April. Plus, communication planet Mercury moves into Aries and your travel sector on the 17th.
Put the two together and this is where things are happening fast. Plan a trip with friends or join someone else on their adventure.
The only proviso around Mars in Gemini is that irritation levels could rise. You may feel frustrated if friends or companions are flaky or continually change their mind. Mars rules anger as well as action. Try not to get into heated debates this month, as this will quickly sap your energy.
There’s a lot happening in the world right now and it is important to have your voice. Yet, at the same time, don’t keep putting yourself in a situation where tempers flare. Ensure that any debates or discussions take place in a measured way.
Love too is in the mix as love planet Venus enters Aries on the 20th. This is ideal for a holiday romance or travelling with the one you love. Ensure that sensitive topics are off limits, however, if you don’t want to fall out when you’re away from home.
Career Transformation
Your working life could also be undergoing a key transformation this month, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the Sun, your ruler, enters Taurus and your career and vocation sector on the 20th. Almost immediately, on the 22nd, the Sun runs in to the planet of change, Uranus, which entered Taurus last month.
This is when you will find out what Uranus in Taurus means for you with regard to your career and vocation. Things can happen quickly with Uranus, whether it’s an unexpected opportunity that comes your way or a chance to go freelance or become self-employed. Uranus doesn’t like to be tied down as it’s the planet linked to freedom.
Also, this month, the slower-moving planets, Saturn and Pluto reach a pivotal stage. They both turn retrograde, Pluto on the 24th and Saturn on the 30th. Plus, there’s a rare encounter between Pluto and the south node on the 4th and Saturn and the south node on the 30th.
This could flag up limitations around your work or health. The south node is where you retreat to in life and it pulls you back.
