Your planet Mercury begins the month in Scorpio and it’s time to sort out any unresolved business that is affecting your work, health or routine. This is most likely an issue that you’ve been aware of since early October and has involved a certain amount of backtracking and reverse movement but now you’re on the homeward stretch. This may translate as hearing definite news about a job or work project, rediscovering your inspiration for work or making some new resolutions about your health and general well-being.
Let’s not forget that Saturn, the taskmaster of the heavens, is also in this sector of your chart where it remains for the next couple of years. Saturn’s the ‘get real’ planet so it’s about working within your limitations and being determined to stick to a new diet, fitness regime or job-finding strategy.
Work may go through periods of being hard or uninspiring when Saturn’s bearing down on you and you need to look for other outlets of inspiration. It can create a gap between work you do to earn a living and following your true vocation. Ideally, you need to balance the two now and if work is lacking or unusually busy, find ways and means to do what inspires you and what you love.
Neptune, the planet of dreams and inspiration, has been up at the top of your chart influencing your career since early 2012 and work that helps or inspires others embodies the Neptune factor. Learn to play music, write poetry and explore your creative abilities. It will help if you find a deeper purpose to your work role and remember the reasons why you do what you do.
The big news this month, however, is relationships and the week beginning 10th December brings a flurry of excitement. Your planet Mercury enters your opposite sign of Sagittarius on the 11th, there’s a New Moon in Sagittarius signalling new beginnings in love on the 13th and Venus, planet of love, enters Sagittarius on the 16th. It’s a run of green lights and a chance to begin again in some way with regard to relationships.
If you’re single, this is the week to meet someone new so line up Christmas party invites and arrange to meet friends on the 14th and 19th as well. A new relationship may start unexpectedly and move on quickly. Look out for someone who not only makes you laugh but intrigues you as well. If you feel as if you’re the best of friends and can talk about anything, you’re on the right track.
It’s also a key month for those of you who are in a relationship or married. Whatever came to light on or around last month’s eclipse (28th Nov) that cut across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis may have been dramatic. If so, this month’s stars are going to feel overwhelming at times but they do hold the possibility to rise above your differences and make love work. It feels like an exuberant, extreme roller-coaster ride but there’s also huge potential for big-hearted gestures, warmth, openness, fun and laughter. Whether you’re together or apart this Christmas, there’s no denying the power of love.
For a large part of December, however, you may feel as if other people are calling the shots and have the upper hand and it’s important not to wear yourself out trying to please everyone. Don’t forget that Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, is currently in your sign of Gemini so this suggests that even if you can’t always please other people, at least you can please yourself. On Christmas Day, the Moon is also in your sign of Gemini.
This is another indicator that rather than being pulled back and forth and putting other peoples’ needs and wishes before your own, you’ll be far happier deciding what makes you happy and doing what you want this festive season. It may be easier said than done but at least try and tell other people and the universe what it is that you want. You may be pleasantly surprised by the way events turn out when you decide to look after no. 1 and put yourself first.
Finally this month, Mars, the action planet is in Capricorn so it’s an excellent time to sort out your finances and increase your financial know how. Be cash savvy and learn how to get the best deals on debts, savings, investments, mortgages, etc. There’s nothing like the end of a year to prompt you into action and to sort out your affairs so you can start afresh on January 1st the way you mean to go on. The 27th-30th is an excellent period to make some new resolutions and ensure that financially and work-wise, 2013’s lined up to be a successful and prosperous year.
