If you know anything about astrology, you may already know that March heralds two big astrological events: Saturn entering Pisces on the 7th and Pluto entering Aquarius on the 23rd. I’ve addressed what both these events mean for you in separate sections at the bottom of this month’s horoscope.
Pisces Season
This month, the main focus is on the star sign Pisces and your career and vocation sector. The Sun is here until the 20th and your ruling planet Mercury is in Pisces from the 2nd to the 19th.
Therefore, this could turn out to be a significant month for your work and where you’re heading in life. Do bear in mind, however, that there may be times when you feel confused or you lose your way.
Your planet Mercury isn’t strong in Pisces. There may be too many options or possibilities and you find it hard to know which way to turn. You may feel emotionally overwhelmed or experience information overload.
The key with Mercury in Pisces is to trust in life and go with the flow. Rather than try to work everything out in your head, listen to your heart and what your intuition tells you. Do what feels right rather than what you think is right. This is good advice during the Full Moon on the 7th which cuts across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac.
Decide what stays and what goes on this Full Moon – sound advice too for Saturn’s move into Pisces and your career sector on the same day – see below.
A lot depends on whether you enjoy what you do in life. If you’re living your dream and following your vocation, March could be an inspirational month for you. If you work in the arts or creative industries, you could bring something beautiful to life this month.
Alternatively, if you know you’re on the wrong path and bored with your routine, it may feel as if you’re swimming against the tide rather than being in flow with life.
The trickiest period could be from the 14th to the 17th when you may be up against competition or you lose your way. Trust in your emotions this month and give yourself time and space to feel and surrender.
Mars On The Move
This month, action planet Mars leaves your star sign Gemini on the 25th where it’s been since August 2022. This is where Mars turned retrograde in the last two months of 2022 and the first half of January 2023. It’s been a long period to have passionate and angry Mars in your star sign.
You may sense a shift on or around the 16th when Mars moves out of its shadow phase in Gemini. What’s releasing or where do you need to let go?
Mars in Gemini can be great for pursuing activities around communication, both the spoken and written word. It’s good for debates and ideas but it’s full on energy. You may be more than ready to slow down the pace a little and put any personal problems or issues behind you.
Mars moves into Cancer on the 25th and your personal money sector. This is where you’re wise to channel your energy and focus on your future security. You might be involved in a property deal or be helping out someone financially, perhaps in your family.
Mars’ connection with Saturn in Pisces on the 30th is a reminder to play the long game and keep your gaze on your future goals.
Think of life as a dance this month and you’ll get more done than expecting everything to proceed in an orderly fashion.
Aries Season
You may become more involved with group activities later this month as the star sign Aries is prominent. Your ruler Mercury moves into Aries on the 19th, followed by the Sun on the 20th, the day of the Equinox and there’s a New Moon, a symbol of new beginnings, in Aries on the 21st.
Aries rules your friends, also the society you live in, your group connections and group dynamics. Therefore, this is not a time to go it alone.
Key dates for group connections are the 2nd, the day of a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Aries and the 28th, the day of a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in Aries.
Jupiter expands what it touches and is the planet linked to good fortune. These could be key dates for your interactions with others, whether you’re celebrating, you fall in love or you hear good news.
Love and friendship go hand in hand, especially while the goddess of love Venus is in Aries up until the 16th.
Saturn Enters Pisces – March 7
Saturn is the planet of rules and regulation, authority, discipline and boundaries. Since December 2017, Saturn has been in Capricorn and Aquarius, its two signs of rulership. Saturn rules with a firm hand during this period.
This month, Saturn moves into Pisces, the last star sign and an emotional water sign, which is unknown territory for the planet representing boundaries. Pisces is where the ego dissolves and you encounter the vast universe, the one-ness of life.
Will the unreal become real as fantasy, the imagination and the impossible become possible? Or, will Saturn bring structure and form to Pisces’ realm, e.g. the sea, drugs, the media, spirituality? The last time Saturn was in Pisces was 1993-1996 and this time around, Saturn remains in Pisces until 2026.
Pisces is your career and vocation sector, it signifies your status and reputation. Therefore, you may be ready to step into a new role or position of responsibility. Alternatively, you may be considering retirement or your current job or role is coming to an end. Both are possible as Saturn represents authority and commitment, also endings.
Sometimes Saturn in your career sector indicates a powerful boss or authority figure in your life. A good question to ask is where it would be most meaningful and worthwhile to channel your time and energy over the next two to three years.
Pluto Enters Aquarius – March 23
The slowest-moving planet Pluto changes star sign this month and moves into Aquarius. Pluto is the planet of power & transformation, loss & endings. The last time Pluto changed star sign was 2008 when it entered Capricorn, the sign of big business, coinciding with a financial crash.
It will take Pluto eighteen months before it’s established in Aquarius, the star sign linked to technology, equality and the collective, where it will remain until 2043.
As Pluto’s a generational planet, the themes may not resonate with you immediately. Yet, it’s helpful to note where Pluto is strong in your horoscope and where there may be a theme of transformation, loss or deep psychological change.
Pluto’s been moving through Capricorn and your joint finance sector. You may have experienced bankruptcy or significant debt under this transit. Or, perhaps your finances have been completely transformed and you’ve taken control or charge of your future security.
Pluto’s move into Aquarius lights up your travel and study sector. You could decide not to travel or fly under this transit and play your part in climate change. Or, perhaps a period of intense study comes to an end. Alternatively, you’re ready to dive deep into your life’s work. Or, to embark on a period of deep psychological transformation linked to religion, philosophy or your spiritual path.
