Gemini Horoscope January 2022

New Moon [12 Capricorn 20] – January 2nd (18:33 GMT)

Mercury Retrograde

Your ruling planet Mercury enters your fellow air sign Aquarius on the 2nd. This is usually good news as Mercury likes to be in the air signs and Aquarius rules travel and study, the bigger picture in life.

However, Mercury is slowing down and turns retrograde in Aquarius on the 14th. Mercury remains on go slow until February 4th.

Travel may not be straightforward during this period, even if you are boldly venturing out into the world. Double check paperwork, passports and visas, rethink your options. Alternatively, postpone a trip or course for a later date. Mid-February onwards may be favourable. You may have to wait until early February when Mercury turns direct before firming up your ideas and plans.

Use the Mercury retrograde phase to find inspiration and take time out from your normal routine. It could be a vivid time for dreams and journalling, learning and exploration. Explore philosophy, religion, spirituality, magic or mysticism. Find your muse.

Venus Retrograde

Also, the planet of love Venus is retrograde for most of the month, until the 29th. Here too, the theme is re-winding or pondering, rather than taking decisive action.

You may be apart from the one you love, you may be single and feel wistful about love and romance. It’s a time for questioning and reflecting rather than demanding answers or issuing ultimatums.

Yet, at the same time, don’t be afraid of exploring taboo issues in a relationship or diving deeper to uncover what’s hidden. Plus, passion planets Mars is lighting up your relationship sector until the 24th so this could be a lively or complex area of your life. Ideally, wait until Venus turns direct at the end of January before making your mind up around love.

– Venus is retrograde in Capricorn and your joint finance sector. This is where there’s a lot of activity this month but it’s a stop-start scenario. If you’re waiting on a payment or finances are unravelling in some shape or form, try not to rush into things as there are significant turning points later this month.

Firstly, action planet Mars enters Capricorn on the 24th and two days later Mercury retrogrades back into Capricorn on the 26th. A cash loss or battle over money could culminate on the Full Moon on the 17th and this is what drives you into action at the same time as changing around your plans. Once Mercury is direct early February, you can sort out any muddles or sign a contract that gives you more security moving forwards.
