Capricorn Monthly Stars October 2013

Capricorn KitschensyngkCapricorn (22 December-19 January)

The stakes are raised this month, Capricorn, as the focus intensifies in the sign of Libra up at the top of your chart. This is about your vocation in life and how what you do defines who you are. There’s a lot going right but life isn’t without its challenges.

First up is a Cardinal T-square that takes place on the 2nd/3rd between Sun Libra opposing Uranus Aries and squared by Pluto Capricorn. This feels a little like a tennis match with you sitting at the side watching the ball being bashed back and forth harder and harder by the two other players. It’s the top of your chart (work/your future) versus the bottom of your chart (home and family/your past) and right now there’s a battle going on.

This may be something you already know about as it’s not the first time there’s been a Cardinal T-square in the same place in the heavens – think back to late August and mid-September for starters. So it could be the same or a similar issue raising its head; changes at home or within your family and unexpected goings-on that affect your progress at work and within your career. There may be a sense of ‘what’s it all about’ and contemplating whether you’re on the right path or whether your past is determining your future like it or not.

All you can really do is analyse the situation to your best ability and decide where in life you need to let go and move on. Change is on the way and there’s no ducking out of it so put your practical and realistic nature to good use, look at the options available to you and make the best possible choice that you can.

Burying your head in the sand is not an option because both key phases of the Moon, the New Moon on the 5th and the Full Moon on the 18th focus on the signs of Aries and Libra, these same sectors. As the Moon is the planetary body that rules your partner, some of you may find that it’s what’s going on in your partner’s life that determines what choices you can and can’t make. With Jupiter, planet of good fortune, firmly ensconced in your relationship sector, this is a promising year for love and following your heart.

The 18th is especially relevant as the Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse and the beginning of a cycle that falls across the Aries/Libra axis of your horoscope. Eclipses often coincide with dramatic events that are key turning points whether this involves a job change, empty nest syndrome or move of residence.

So what’s going to help you make those big decisions? Saturn your ruler is in Scorpio and your friendship sector, plus your association with groups, societies or clubs. Mercury, planet of communication, is also in Scorpio and will remain here until early December. In fact, Mercury connects with your planet Saturn three times, twice this month on the 8th and 29th and once next month on 26th November.

So talk to your friends, especially those old loyal friends who know you inside out. They can help you make sense of what’s going on in your life and especially if there are any blind spots, things that you’re not seeing. This is a great month for a reunion and gathering together friends from another important time in your life.

Some of you may also be making decisions about a role of responsibility within a group, club or society. This may be something that’s taking up a lot of your time and if family are starting to complain that you’re rarely home, you could be debating whether it’s time to move on. Certainly Saturn often brings with it a choice whether to commit or quit. If you do become more heavily involved with a friend or group association, it will take up a lot of your time and energy for the next couple of months so be discerning about what’s right for you.

Mercury also enters its retrograde period from 21st October-10th November and this is not the time to be making those big decisions. Certainly use this time wisely to review and rethink your situation but be patient as new information often comes to light once Mercury begins to pick up speed again.

From mid-month onwards, there’s another planet supporting you and that’s Mars, the planet of action, in your fellow earth sign of Virgo. Virgo rules travel and a holiday could be just what the doctor ordered especially if you feel you would benefit from time away to make sense of what’s going on at home or in the bigger picture of your life.

On Halloween the 31st Mars trines Pluto in an easy aspect in your sign of Capricorn so look out for an opportunity to travel or study something new. Sometimes it helps to look out over the parapets to see all that life has to offer and consider where you want to go and what you want to do next.
