Capricorn (22 December – 19 January)
Your ruler Saturn is in action on the 1st when it teams up with the planet of relating, Venus, in Aries and your home and family sector. This is a steady influence and it’s a chance to bring equilibrium to your current situation, especially if there have been lots of comings and goings at home or within your close family relationships.
Yet be warned that only two days later on the 3rd, Venus teams up with volatile Uranus and any good intentions could go out of the window. If someone close refuses to take your advice or isn’t ready to settle down, there’s not a lot you can do about it.
In fact, as Venus finally leaves Aries on the 6th where she’s been for most of 2017, it would make sense to stop trying to fix someone who doesn’t want to be fixed. Same goes if you’re repeatedly banging your head against a brick wall and doing the same thing doesn’t change your situation. Again take a step back and give yourself a break.
This could turn out to be a busy month too as there’s a lot of planetary activity in the air sign Gemini. Gemini rules your work and lifestyle, your health and well-being and this is where you find the Sun until the 21st and communication planet Mercury from the 6th to the 21st.
The Mercury transit in particular is fast-paced and you need to think on your feet. This would be a good period for important negotiations, to set up a meeting or interview that can help you moving forward.
Yet this is also about time management and perhaps looking at ways to delegate some of your tasks, especially if you’re super busy. Mercury in Gemini favours organisation and outsourcing some of your work or chores if your time could be better spent elsewhere.
The 9th is an especially important date in this respect when you might have a flash of insight or see your situation clearly. Firstly, there’s a Full Moon cutting across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis of the zodiac so work and health matters dominate.
Secondly, the big planet Jupiter turns direct on the 9th in Libra and your career sector. After four months retrograde or on go slow, Jupiter is back up to speed and the next four months are ideal for focusing on your career and vocation and where you’re heading in life.
Yet Jupiter is different to your ruler Saturn as Jupiter rules visionary goals and risk-taking. So you need to do things differently now in order to get ahead. This is the signature of the entrepreneur so look out for new opportunities which come your way or people who have a strong influence on your career path.
There’s another astrological factor later in the month which points towards you doing less not more. Think of how this can make sense to your current situation in order for you to be able to work smart rather than work hard.
This influence involves your planet Saturn and on the 15th and 18th, Saturn opposes the Sun and Mercury in Gemini. So something’s got to give during this period and it’s important that you don’t take on too much. Your health could suffer if you’re overly busy and it’s a good time to unhook yourself from a person or situation that asks too much of you.
You might have some big decisions to make in the month ahead but the right answer is going to be the one that boosts your profile and helps you move smoothly up your chosen career ladder. If you spend too much time running around doing chores and everyday work and overly giving to others, take a step back.
Focus more on what you love and your long-term goals rather than getting too caught up with what feels like a duty or obligation.
This is in line with Venus’ transit through Taurus from the 6th onwards. This is a sensual placing for the Goddess of love and it highlights enjoyment, entertainment and play. You get the most out of Venus’ loving ways by adopting a slower pace and focusing on creative and artistic activities.
Venus in Taurus is strong for your relationship with children if you’re a parent and for love affairs and new romance if you’re single. Move away from people who give off a negative vibe and surround yourself with luxury, comfort and sensual fabrics.
If you’re in a relationship or married, passion planet Mars enters Cancer and your relationship sector on the 4th where it remains until mid to late July. This is good news for your sex life although Mars rules anger as well as your libido.
Yet it gives a welcome jump-start to your 1-to-1’s and adds excitement to close relationships. Plus on the day of the Solstice, the 21st, the Sun and communication planet Mercury join Mars in your opposite sign of Cancer.
This is gorgeous for love and partnership and the 21st is a special date for connecting on a close intimate level with the one you love.
Three days later on the 24th there’s a New Moon in Cancer, so there’s a theme of fresh starts when it comes to your 1-to-1’s. This would be a good date to rekindle desire or initiate something new with your other half.
Yet it doesn’t have to be about love. In fact, it might be someone who comes into your life who makes things a lot easier. Any tricky political or social situation or clashing personalities can be sorted out swiftly towards the end of June.
