Happy New Year! Hooray – 2020 is over and we’re moving into a brand new year.

Capricorn Time

This month’s New Moon falls in Capricorn on the 13th, a symbol of new beginnings. However, there is a different vibe to this New Moon as it’s closely tied to Pluto, the planet of loss and transformation.

This brings added intensity and a reminder that sometimes you have to close the door on the past before you can start over.

Certainly, there’s a theme of endings as well as new beginnings during January’s New Moon. It’s as important to focus on what you’re not taking into the year ahead, as it is to line up some new dreams and goals.

The Pluto theme is strong throughout the month as Pluto teams up with talk planet Mercury on the 5th, the Sun on the 14th and relating planet Venus on the 28th. This could mean that ultimatums are issued this month. Alternatively, you’re stepping into a new role or position of power.

Love & Lust

Love planet Venus is in Capricorn for most of the month from the 8th onwards. This favours kind and caring relations and it’s a lovely time to prioritise the ones you love. Yet, there is a theme of intensity or obsession.

Therefore, it’s important to recognise your own motivations around love and notice who you’re closely attracted to and why. This theme is especially strong towards the end of the month.

There is another reason why romance and love relationships are hotting up. This is because on the 6th, passion planet Mars enters your fellow earth sign Taurus and your romance sector. Mars remains here for the next two months and is particularly lively mid-January.

This would be a great time to do so, as long as you know what you’re doing and you have all the facts and relevant information at your disposal. There are some lucky financial days for you this month, when Jupiter teams up with the fast-moving planets.

There’s a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction on the 11th and a Sun-Jupiter conjunction on the 29th. As Jupiter rules opportunity and growth, look out for ways to expand your income or be generous with your finances. You might be in benevolent mood this month.
