Cancer (21 June – 22 July)
As the month of September begins, communication planet Mercury is retrograde, i.e. on go slow in Virgo and your communication sector. This is potentially a double whammy of communication chaos so keep your mind open and be attentive to detail.
Often when Mercury is on go slow in your communication sector, you find that correspondence goes missing or there are misunderstandings, slip-ups. It’s important not to believe everything you hear and to chase up significant correspondence. Don’t take life or other people for granted whilst Mercury is unsettled.
In addition to Mercury retrograde, there are two eclipses this month picking out the same sector of your chart. On the 1st, there’s a solar or New Moon eclipse in Virgo and on the 16th there’s a lunar or Full Moon eclipse cutting across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac.
You often feel eclipse energy more powerfully than other people because you’re a Moon child. Your sign of Cancer is ruled by the waxing and waning Moon which is why you often experience the whole gamut of emotions. Your moods can change as quickly as the shape-shifting Moon.
So know that you might feel more emotional during the eclipse period. The eclipses pick up your education sectors, your desire to travel and experience life to the full. If you are on the move this month, double check travel documentation and allow yourself extra time to get from A to B.
You might be studying to retake exams or feeling unsure about what next. This could be a month when you spend a lot of time lost in your thoughts, perhaps feeling disillusioned with your lot or unusually unsettled. If this is true for you, then express your thoughts, write them down or talk to people you trust.
You might find that your plans have to change suddenly this month so be ready to go with the flow and follow wherever life leads. At work too you could be feeling stuck or bored especially as September begins. The eclipse on the 1st connects to the Saturn-Neptune square which is exact on the 10th.
Saturn is in Sagittarius and your work and health sector and Neptune square to Saturn can evoke feelings of sadness, being disillusioned, feeling hopeless. If you sense that you’re drifting, whether you’re in or out of employment, what’s needed now is action, positivity, a sense of direction.
Admittedly it will be harder to feel that you’re going in a straight line, making steady progress until Mercury turns direct on the 22nd. Yet you do have action planet Mars also in Sagittarius and moving forward at fast speed. So take action now, get things moving, don’t worry too much about what other people say, trust yourself.
The key date for your work and career is the 17th, the day after the lunar eclipse, when Mars teams up in a positive trine aspect with spontaneous Uranus in your career sector. This is a strong date to go for what you want, to be bold and courageous.
Yet there’s another area of your life which is highlighted now and which is likely to be your top priority. Up until the 23rd, love planet Venus is in Libra and your home and family sector. This is where happiness can be found and playing happy families often brings you the love and reassurance you need especially when you feel unsettled inside.
So focus on these areas of your life and look at what next. This is especially important because on the 9th, the biggest and best planet, Jupiter, joins Venus in Libra and Jupiter only changes signs approximately once every year.
So this is big news and whether you’re planning a family celebration, you want to expand your home or move to pastures new, this is where good fortune lies now and over the next few months.
The 26th is an especially lucky date when the Sun and Jupiter come together in the heavens. This is one of the best dates of the year and for you it lights up your home and family sector, your past and where you come from.
Note too that Jupiter rules space and freedom and is linked to foreign connections. You might be considering a move abroad or a member of your family is moving on, fleeing the nest.
Close relationships are also highlighted this month although you could find that there’s not much movement at all as September begins. Saturn is your partner planet and as it’s caught up in a tricky square aspect with Neptune, this could signal disappointment with regard to love and close relationships early in the month.
If you’re in a relationship or married and you feel stuck or trapped, again it’s up to you to add more fuel to the fire. On the 23rd, love planet Venus enters Scorpio and your romance sector followed by Mars’ move into Capricorn and your relationship sector on the 27th.
This is hot, passionate, dynamic and a sign that love and relationships require action and initiative. If you’re bored with your sex life, if you want to communicate on a deeper level, it’s the last week of the month that adds power and intensity to the mix.
Pluto turns direct in Capricorn and your relationship sector on the 26th so there’s a feel of ‘do or die’ when it comes to your 1-to-1’s. Whoever needs to step up, focus on your close relationships to ensure they give you what you want. If you’re looking for love, put energy into dating during the last week of September and more likely than not, you’ll be rewarded.
