Cancer Monthly Stars October 2013

Cancer KitschensyngkCancer (21 June-22 July)

Working out how to juggle or fit in different key areas of your life is your main challenge this month and there’s more than one opportunity to try and get things right.

As the month begins, you could have a battle on your hands or find yourself up against a tough opponent. This is because of a Cardinal T-square in the heavens that’s created by the Sun Libra opposite Uranus Aries square Pluto Capricorn. In other words it’s about your home life v. your work with other people potentially throwing their weight around as well.

Now for some of you this may not feel like a completely new situation as changes have been underway for a while. There were similar cardinal T-squares in late August and mid-September so whether job changes are underway or you’re finding it more difficult than usual to create a healthy work/life balance, the pressure’s cranked up again.

If you’re away from home more than usual or finding your family commitments a challenge, then this is bound to have a knock-on effect on a personal relationship. However, it’s not just personal relationships that require extra care and attention but professional relationships that are under the cosmic spotlight as well.

As it’s the planet Pluto in your opposite sign of Capricorn, don’t expect other people to be on best behaviour either. Pluto can bring out the worst in others with possible power/control issues or other people who are simply unhappy with their lot and taking it out on the people around them, including you.

Do your best to stay out of the line of fire early in the month and when the New Moon in Libra takes place on the 5th, find a way to restore harmony as best you can. For some of you this will involve potential changes, perhaps even changing jobs, but the key to your happiness lies in ensuring your home and family life is comfortable and a nurturing influence. If you’re a typical Cancerian, your loved ones will always be your number one priority.

This month the Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse and the first eclipse in a series that cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of your chart. So getting the home/work balance right is a big deal for you now and over the next two years. Some of you will be moving home or moving away to follow where the work is. At times you may feel as if changes are coming thick and fast and not always to your advantage.

If this is the case you have a couple of options. One is to be more competitive about your position at work and to fight for what you deserve. The other is to ensure you have a good team around you and to rely on colleagues for advice, help and support. Working alongside people who are positive with a good sense of humour is a huge bonus and if you fancy a night out with work colleagues, make it happen on the 16th. If you’re looking for love, don’t be surprised if you meet someone new through your work on or around this date.

New love is well-starred for you now but if you meet a potential partner be aware that things are going to have to develop at a slow pace. This is because Mercury, the planet of communication, is to-ing and fro-ing in your romance sector for the next couple of months. In addition, Mercury turns retrograde on the 21st and remains on go slow until 10th November. This suggests a slow burn with regard to a new romance and taking one step forward only to take two steps back. You may be waiting for someone who’s not completely available or you may meet someone who comes with emotional baggage attached and who isn’t yet ready to leap straight back into a relationship.

There is a possibility of a genuine connection now especially if the person you meet is a Scorpio or Capricorn but be prepared to take your time. Often when Mercury’s on go slow, there’s a theme of secrets or something hidden or unspoken.

If you’re a parent, this may apply to children as well so don’t rely only on conversation to find out what’s going on but trust your intuition too and rely on your instincts to know when they need you.

Mercury remains in your fellow water sign of Scorpio until early December and this is a soul-searching placing for the planet of communication. If you find yourself becoming too introspective, then actively engage with others and begin new activities where you’ll meet new people to talk to.

You may find that you want to dig deep to discover your creative source or understand yourself or others on a psychological level. The crux of Mercury in Scorpio is a deep fascination with the mysteries of life and it can be a genuine time of inspiration. Allow yourself to delve into what’s unknown and see life as a journey rather than fixing onto a destination. Being one of the water signs, your intuition is going to be at its most powerful and psychic or spiritual insights will guide your way forward.

  1. Is the risk to lose job only until the 5th of October or entire month? Please advise..

    1. Thanks for your comment. Uranus is in Aries and Cancer’s career sector for approximately 7 years. It may symbolise job changes but that’s only one way that Uranus will play out in Cancerian’s lives. Uranus is the planet of the future and technology and prefers doing it’s own thing rather than conforming to other peoples’ rules or standards. When Uranus challenges or is challenged by other planets, yes, events can take place that are beyond your control. That will happen repeatedly throughout the 7 year period but there will also be opportunities to do things differently and take advantage of change. The eclipse cycle that begins on the 18th focuses on home and work for Cancer so anticipate changes and be aware that the balancing act of home/work will be ongoing. I hope that helps. best, Sally

  2. Hi Sally,

Thanks for the response. Do understand that Uranus is in Aries and Cancer’s career sector for ~ 7 years and it’s until 2019. But wasn’t the lunar eclipse on 25th May a big game changer for Cancer? or will the 18th/19th October one make someone lose their job? And secondly, does it only restrict on losing job or is it possible of a change in job/role or duties?
Also Venus in the work sector from 9th October and eclipse falling during that time. Does that sound like a curse on the job or a good sign on the development of job?

    1. I think we understand astrology slightly differently. The astrology doesn’t ‘make you’ do anything. I think it’s more helpful if you think ‘as above, so below’, i.e. what’s happening astrologically mirrors what’s happening in life. Astrology is much more useful when it’s seen as a combination of fate and free will. You know what your situation is, so what are your options, what can you do about it, how can you respond?
For Cancerians, Uranus in their career sector makes this a restless time, either because they don’t like their job and they’re itching for a change or because they’re working in an industry or job that’s currently unstable. Uranus is an impulsive energy so it can work in your favour to be bold and make a change in your own life but Uranus doesn’t provide the security or strong foundations which are important for Cancer. Cancerians aren’t always happy being a free spirit and stepping blindly into the unknown. They need to know where they’re going to land.
The eclipse on the 18th October is the first in the Aries/Libra eclipse cycle and therefore focusing on home/work. Libra is the sign of the moment this autumn and into 2014 which is the home and family side of the axis so the pull will be stronger in this direction for Cancerians. Away from work and towards caring for loved ones. It will play out differently for each Cancerian but the themes will be there in their lives. Hope this helps. best, Sally
