This is a huge month for you, Cancer, and it’s unlikely you’ll come to the end of it without some major development taking place in one area of your life at least. One reason for this is the number of planets moving through your own sign of Cancer.
Mercury, planet of communication, entered your sign on 31st May and will remain here until early August. This is your cue to get talking, make plans, tick off your ‘to do’ list, make a new ‘to do’ list and generally be sociable and busy. There’s an important reason why you should jump to it this month and I’ll explain why shortly.
The next planet to enter Cancer is Venus and Venus, planet of love, beauty and the good things in life, remains in your sign from the 3rd-27th. This has got to spell good news for your love life as Venus boosts your popularity and helps you look and feel good. You tend to care about yourself more when Venus is in your sign and it’s a win-win situation.
This month is of course the beginning of your birthday month which coincides with the summer solstice and the Sun entering Cancer on the 21st. Then five days later the big event of the month arrives when Jupiter, planet of opportunity, enters your sign and for the first time in 12 years, you have the luckiest planet in the heavens giving you a welcome boost.
Jupiter will remain in Cancer for 12 months and it’s a promising time to expand your world, think big and do what you love. Jupiter rules travel, study, spirituality, publishing, the media and the Law. Start sowing seeds and make plans for what you want to achieve or experience over the next 12 months. The focus is on you.
However, before you can really get going, it seems as if you have other people or situations to deal with. One reason for this is the fact that Pluto, the wipe-out planet, is firmly established in your opposite sign of Capricorn and if your birthday falls on or before the 4th of July, you’ve already experienced Pluto opposite your Sun and this can be quite devastating as it often brings changes that are final and sees you having to start over in some way or begin again.
This month Pluto opposes Mercury on the 7th and Venus on the 11th. For some, this may spell the end of the road for a key relationship in your life, whether personal or professional. Your opposite sign rules your one-to-ones and this may be an enemy or someone who makes your life difficult not easy.
Of course, you can’t control what other people do but with such a strong emphasis on your own sign of Cancer, I suspect that for some it’s going to be your decision to close a door and move on. This may be your chance to wipe the slate clean in order to experience the freedom that Jupiter offers. The other key date is the 23rd when there’s a Full Moon in your opposite sign of Capricorn. Again this signals a completion and a time to take stock of your one-to-ones.
In addition this month there’s a lot of activity in the sign before yours, the sign of Gemini, which rules what’s hidden and secret. You may want to retreat from life and spend some quiet time so you can listen to your own inner voice more clearly to understand what you want and need. There may be other reasons why you’re slowing down and life’s urging you to retreat, recuperate and take it easy. Most importantly with the focus on one of the air signs, this is about doing whatever’s necessary to still your busy mind so you can see and think clearly.
Another cue for you to kick back and slow down is Mercury turning retrograde on the 26th, the same day as Jupiter enters your sign. Don’t worry if you change your mind on or around this date or find that you can’t quite instigate the action you were hoping to. For some reason, you may need to stop for a while and wait and see what happens. Mid-July is a more positive period for you when your questions are answered and you find it easier to speak your mind and make some key decisions about the next 12 months.
Until then, let your imagination and dreams inspire you. This month and next there’s a grand trine of planets in water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. This is your chance to find your inspiration, to make plans to travel or emigrate, to study or teach or to do the one thing that’s closest to your heart and your burning passion. Jupiter will help you create the opportunities that can open doors over the next 12 months but for now it’s slowly, slowly and the chance to consider where in life you need to let go so that you can make progress and move on.
