Cancer Monthly Stars December 2014

Christmas baubleCancer (21 June – 22 July)

There’s a busy vibe to your stars this month and as December begins, three of the personal planets are in the fire sign Sagittarius ruling your everyday work, routine, lifestyle and your health. You may be in an eager rush to get work out of the way in plenty of time for holiday season or perhaps work is where the fun is at on the run up to the big day.

Certainly this is a good month to feel positive about your work, to take on extra hours to pay for Christmas or to look for a part-time job or volunteer role. Keeping busy makes you happy and with Jupiter teaming up with the Sagittarius planets throughout the first half of the month, there’s the potential to earn more as well. The more positive you are about work and money matters, the more you may find that new opportunities fall into your lap.

Mars, the action planet, enters one of your finance sectors on December 5th when it moves into the sign of Aquarius ruling joint finances and shared resources. This is good news for pooling money on the run up to Christmas and sharing expenses either with work colleagues, friends or family. Don’t buy into the Christmas guilt trip of thinking you have to spend, spend, spend to have a good time.

The 21st is another lively date for work and money matters when Mars teams up with Uranus in your career sector. At its best this represents a bonus or promotion but Uranus is also about space and freedom so for some this may mean a decision to change your work situation perhaps for family reasons.

One of the key astrological factors this month is the Uranus-Pluto square which takes place on December 15th. These two mighty Titans have squared up to one another five times since June 2012. This month is the sixth clash and there will be one more mid-March 2015. This is especially powerful for you if you have planets or angles in the middle of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). This month’s Uranus-Pluto square falls at 12 Aries/Capricorn and in mid-March they’ve moved on to 15 Aries/Capricorn.

Pluto’s in your opposite sign so this is about relationship for you, either personal or professional. Pluto can represent a loss, a dead end or sometimes it symbolises a power game. Either way the balance is usually out in a key relationship. As Pluto and Uranus are in key areas of your chart, this can force you to make a sudden decision which subsequently has a knock-on effect within your career or your path in life.

It can play out in different ways depending on your personal situation but it could indicate a boss who leaves affecting your own position or a clash with someone you work with and you decide to move on. It may be issues around your partner’s job or vocation and whatever they decide means changes for you as well.

You should by now know what this is about in your own life as it’s been ongoing for a couple of years and it’s important to recognise that you still have a way to go but this is the final stretch. Events this holiday season may up the ante in some way and help you realise what decision you need to make.

Venus (love) in Capricorn clashes with the Uranus/Pluto square on the 20th and Mercury (communication) goes one step better and sets up a battle in the early hours of Christmas Day (25th). The best way to deal with this potentially volatile energy is to agree not to discuss any issue that could develop into an argument. Park it to one side and focus on having fun.

If you know something’s not working for you personally and you would like to see some key changes in your own life, then the 22nd is the most important date of the month. This is when there’s a New Moon in your opposite sign of Capricorn and five planetary bodies sit side-by-side on this day.

A New Moon is perfect for setting new intentions and initiating changes in your own life that benefit not only you but the people close to you as well. It’s the perfect day to make a decision about what next with regard to love/partnership/work/career. Remember that these areas of your life are linked right now and what takes place in one area affects the other.

Finally this month the planet Saturn is on the move and it leaves your fellow water sign of Scorpio on December 23rd where it’s been since October 2012. Saturn can be a bit of a damp squib so if you’ve had a tough time with kids, pregnancy, a love affair or found it more difficult to embrace good times in your life, then you’ll be pleased to see the back of Saturn. It can be a gloomy influence and it’s been challenging for many people in the sign of Scorpio.

Saturn has to move somewhere and for the next couple of years it’s in Sagittarius, the sector of your chart that rules your everyday work, routine, lifestyle and health. So bear this in mind and start by adopting healthy habits. Prioritise your well-being and know that if you commit to a new work role towards the end of this year, it is likely to test you. Be prepared to work hard.

For some, it’s going to be a flexible work arrangement that suits you best and offers you the freedom that a regular 9-to-5 can’t. Again it depends on your personal situation what’s going to work best.

If you’re in a relationship or married, the most loving days of the holiday season are Boxing Day (26th) and the 27th. This is the time to reconnect and think of going out for the day or visiting somewhere new. New Year’s Eve (31st) looks gorgeous for bringing in the new year with friends. Raise a glass and celebrate in style.
