Cancer (22 June – 22 July)
It may seem like a case of deja-vu as May begins. Communication planet, Mercury, remains in Aries and your career and vocation sector and, once again, encounters tough planets in Capricorn and your relationship sector.
If you’re involved in any kind of ongoing argument or battle, tensions are heightened early in May but, by the middle of the month, you’ll have found an escape route.
The major culprit astrologically is Mars in Capricorn until the 16th, along with the Darth Vader of the planetary line-up, Pluto. Mars can trigger tension and it’s the planet of both passion and anger. If you’re up against tough competition early this month or you’re coming into contact with difficult individuals, this is the reason why.
In fact, you might be scheming away trying to work out how to move on from a testing situation in your life, whether personal or professional. The fact is that this is more than possible and it may be a good idea to do so.
What recent events may have taught you is how important it is to get the right people on your side. Saturn and Pluto are going to remain in Capricorn for a few years yet, which brings commitment and strength to your partnerships, in the right hands.
What’s happening this month is a chance for you to decide where your allegiances lie and move away from anyone difficult. Instead, veer closer to people who are supportive in a good way.
The turning point comes mid-month and could appear in dramatic fashion. This is because of some extraordinary planetary activity taking place from the 13th to the 16th. Firstly, talk planet Mercury leaves Aries on the 13th but not before teaming up with live-wire Uranus, also in Aries.
This is the last time these two planets are going to unite for eighty-four years. They are an ideal combination for positive thinking, strong declarations and speaking your mind. They may come together to provide you with an exit route or perhaps there’s the promise of something new and exciting. Aries represents your career and vocation, linked to your status and reputation.
Two days later on the 15th, Uranus takes its first step out of Aries, where it’s been since 2011. It returns for a few months from November 2018 to March 2019, but this first shift feels significant. It could coincide with the end of a job or contract. You might decide to get away from a difficult boss and take yourself off to pastures new.
Uranus rules technology and all things modern and it’s the freelance planet, so consider whether a move towards security might benefit you now. Perhaps, you’re finding it hard not knowing where the next pay-cheque is coming from. If you’re a typical Sun Cancer, home and security are vital aspects of your life.
Friends, acquaintances and colleagues could also play a key role in this month’s events. This is because Uranus is moving into Taurus and your friendship and group sector. Plus, it does so on the same day as a stunning New Moon in Taurus on the 15th.
A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings and the chance to make a fresh start. It’s an excellent date to set your intentions and connect with a new group, perhaps online. Uranus’ epic move into Taurus is about the internet on the one hand and online connections that could turn your life around.
You might take up online dating if you’re looking for love and, if so, wait until the 19th to begin. This is the day when love planet Venus moves into your star sign Cancer and immediately connects with technological Uranus.
This is gorgeous for being with the one you love, meeting someone new and putting pleasure and enjoyment high up your list of priorities. Venus graces your star sign until mid-June so make the most of it. It’s always lovely to have the planet which rules love and money, art and beauty in your star sign.
Talking of money, there’s another important shift this month as action planet Mars enters Aquarius on the 16th. Aquarius rules your joint finances and shared resources and Mars remains here for the majority of the next six months.
You may decide you’re not willing to work for nothing and you might recognise how important money and values are, in any close relationship in your life. This is an excellent time to overhaul your finances and update your money values and your attitude towards earning and spending money.
There is one date to be cautious of, the 16th, because Mars runs into Uranus as soon as it enters Aquarius. This is not good for impulsive moves, particularly on the financial front. If someone else infuriates you with their behaviour, take a step back before deciding what next.
In fact, you could wait until the 24th when the Sun and Mars align in a useful and pro-active planetary combination. This is the date to decide what next with regard to money and finances.
Work too is under the cosmic spotlight during the Full Moon on the 29th. Be aware, however, that this coincides with a period when you’re wise to retreat a little and trust your intuition when it comes to your work and health.
Finally, there is a stunning Jupiter-Neptune trine aspect in water signs on the 25th and this is gorgeous for you. Jupiter in Scorpio lights up the creative sector of your horoscope, highlighting children and pregnancy, fun and entertainment. Romance too is a strong pull. Neptune is in Pisces and your travel and study sector and it’s an excellent time to go with the flow and follow wherever your heart leads.
