Cancer June 2017

Cancer, sky

Cancer (21 June – 22 July)

There’s still plenty of activity this month in the sign of Gemini, the sign before your own. Gemini rules communication but more importantly thinking. You’re one of the introverted signs of the zodiac and if you know already that sometimes you lose yourself in your thoughts or you become overly worried or anxious, find ways to unhook from your mind.

Gemini rules retreat in your chart so be on your own if it’s good for you, especially if you’re studying, but don’t spend too much time alone if you’re becoming overly obsessive. This is a month when it’s important to analyse your self carefully, to recognise when solitude is good for you and when it tips into unhealthy behaviour.

One planet that is pulling you back out into the world is Mars, the action planet. Mars enters your sign of Cancer on the 4th where it remains until mid to late July. So more doing and less thinking is the way forward, or at least balance the two equally.

This should help you be more spontaneous in life and a ‘just do it’ attitude can work wonders. Mars in Cancer focuses on your personal goals so line up what you want to do and make things happen. Be an active person.

There is one area of your life where perhaps you want less excitement rather than more and this is linked to your career or vocation. There’s been a lot of quite stressful planetary activity in Aries and your career sector since the beginning of the year. This will begin to ease from the 6th when Venus, the planet of relating, leaves this part of your chart.

However, before it does so, Venus teams up with Saturn on the 1st and Uranus on the 3rd. This feels lively and spontaneous but hopefully in a good way. You might recognise who’s on your side or who you need to step away from and give yourself some space.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius might be important in this respect as it takes place on the 9th and lights up your work and lifestyle sector. This would be a good date to make some important changes that benefit your health and well-being.

If your work is stressful, put yourself first and do less rather than more. If you get a chance to take on a less responsible role, you might decide that this is right for you. The Saturn-Uranus pairing continue to play an important part in your work scenario and all year, they’re helping you find a way to balance your working life better.

It’s not necessarily about throwing in the towel but finding new ways to work smart rather than work hard. Consider your options during the Full Moon on the 9th.

The 9th is important in another respect because this is the day that big planet Jupiter turns direct after four months retrograde or on go slow. Jupiter is currently in Libra and your home and family sector and once Jupiter is back up to speed, it powers through this part of your chart for the next four months.

So this is where opportunity lies whether you want to move home, expand your family, redesign where you live or get everyone together for a big family occasion. Jupiter’s on your side from the 9th onwards so make the most of its potential.

If you want to spend more time at home or with your family or swap your busy commute for a stay-at-home role, the 9th would be an ideal date to make such a big decision.

Yet you don’t have to make any major decision on your own now as other people are there for you. The planet of relating, Venus, enters Taurus and your friendship sector on the 6th where it remains throughout the month.

So this means that friends and group get-togethers are where strength and comfort lie. If you’re typical of your sign, it will be important that you have loyal friends, people you can turn to both in times of crisis and in order to celebrate and have fun.

In fact, it’s important now that you’re around people who make you laugh and remind you of what matters in life. Be with down-to-earth types who help you make the most of what you have, especially if you’re constantly seeking something new or different. Friends are your rock now with Venus strong in this part of your chart.

Love and friendship are also linked so if you’re looking for a new relationship, look closer at someone you know already. The best dates for finding love or asking someone out are the 9th, the 20th and the 24th.

Mars in your sign will help boost your self esteem and your confidence and when you step into your power, the rewards are plentiful.

Yet the big turning point for you this month is the Solstice on the 21st. This is always an important date in the astrological calendar as this is when the Sun enters your sign of Cancer. It’s the midpoint of the year, an important date for ritual.

For you, it’s a chance to celebrate your time of year and as the Sun rules vitality, it can literally feel like an energy boost. Plus communication planet Mercury enters Cancer on the 21st and immediately connects with the Sun.

Listen out for good news, ask for what you want and make the most of this special day for a meeting or interview.

Plus three days later, it’s the annual New Moon in Cancer, an ideal date to launch a project and start something new. June has the potential to get better and better for you as the focus turns towards your sign.
