Cancer (22 June – 22 July)
The Sun is in your star sign Cancer up until the 22nd and this is your birthday month. There’s much to celebrate and it starts with you. Sometimes the simple questions are best during your time of year, e.g. ‘am I being kind to myself?’, ‘am I bringing joy into my life?.
This is relevant because, from the 5th to the 8th, there’s a stunning Grand Water Trine in the heavens. This involves the Sun in your star sign Cancer teaming up with Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces.
There’s a flow about this astrology, being in the moment and being open to whatever comes your way. Jupiter and Neptune are boundless planets and they are highlighting the sectors of your horoscope which represent the good things in life and where you broaden your horizons.
This is a gorgeous time to travel, fall in love, hang out with your children, be creative and artistic or find your muse. Make a point of doing at least one thing you love every day. Jupiter’s positive, buoyant planetary energy is strong on the 10th, the day it turns direct. This too feels celebratory.
A few days later and there’s an important planetary factor taking place, a New Moon or Solar Eclipse in your star sign Cancer. This is the first in a new cycle of eclipses cutting across the Cancer/Capricorn axis of the zodiac from now until July 2020.
Planets in Cancer highlight your image and profile, your personal goals, who are you and who you’re becoming. Planets in Capricorn highlight your close relationships, both personal and professional and how you see yourself when you’re in partnership with others.
This eclipse could be extraordinary for you. Sometimes, Solar Eclipses feel like a turbo-powered New Moon, when you’re raring to go and ready to take a bold step in life. However, this eclipse is opposed by Pluto in Capricorn and your relationship sector. So it’s not only a beginning but also an ending and it feels transformative.
Perhaps you’re ready to move on from a partnership in your life or maybe you see yourself more clearly because of another person’s intervention. Use this eclipse energy to take advantage of a shifting situation and turn the focus towards you not away towards another person. Ideally, wait a few days for the eclipse energy to fade before striding out.
Also, this month, there’s a lot of planetary activity in Leo and your personal money sector. Talk planet Mercury is in Leo throughout July and Venus is here until the 10th, the planet which rules love and money. The Sun also enters Leo on the 22nd.
This points to good news for you with regard to money matters, whether extra money comes in, you treat yourself and the ones you love or you receive a gift.
There’s a sense of enjoyment around what you have, especially as the month begins. It’s a wonderful time to be proactive to ensure you’re on the right track financially and with regard to your work and what you do for a living. Use the fire sign energy to move your life in the right direction.
This is important because it’s not all easy-going astrology later in July. There’s an indication that change is on the way, especially with regard to your financial situation and there are two major reasons for this.
Firstly, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Leo and your personal money sector on the 26th and remains on go slow until August 19th. Traditionally, this is not the time to make a major purchase and you’re wise to get your financial ducks in a row before this planetary event.
Secondly, there is a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse which takes place on the 27th, cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac and your money sectors. Eclipses bring what’s hidden to light and they can indicate a turning point, a change in fortune.
This eclipse cycle began in August 2016 and completes in January 2019. If you already know your financial situation is about to change, get ready, prepare yourself and do whatever you need to deal with changes that are on the way.
Retrograde Mars is also caught up with the Lunar Eclipse and, in Aquarius and your joint finance sector, it may be due to a change in circumstance that you have to rethink your finances, your income and outgoings.
Mars remains on go slow throughout July until August 27th, so this whole period is about reworking your finances, whether you’re cutting ties or building joint ventures.
Finally, this is a good month to keep the lines of communication open. There’s a supportive earth sign influence in the heavens from the 10th onwards. This indicates that it’s through other people in your life where you can find the stability, security and peace you crave.
On the 10th, the planet of relating, Venus moves into Virgo. Virgo rules all forms of communication, written and spoken. It’s linked to your local community, siblings and neighbours and it’s the perfect opportunity to share ideas, lean on other people for advice and seek out fun and inspiration.
This isn’t the time to be on your own. Instead, extend your network. Look out for an invitation which comes your way or good news. Make new friends and get together with people you love and trust. In relationships too, being around other people and asking for support will help strengthen the bond between you and someone close.
Be less co-dependent on one another and more social. Use this powerful month and the start of a new eclipse cycle to strengthen your identity. Be the person you want to be if you’re not already.
