If you know anything about astrology, you may already know that March heralds two big astrological events: Saturn entering Pisces on the 7th and Pluto entering Aquarius on the 23rd. I’ve addressed what both these events mean for you in separate sections at the bottom of this month’s horoscope.
Pisces Season
This month, the spotlight is on the star sign Pisces as the Sun is here until the 20th and talk planet Mercury is here from the 2nd to the 19th. Pisces is a fellow water sign and when planets are here, you often feel in your element. This may be a creative or spiritual time for you and any activity that takes you beyond everyday life is recommended.
Pisces rules travel and study in your horoscope. It’s about the bigger picture and lining up adventures and new experiences. You can start to trust your intuition and make significant moves. The best date to do so is the 7th when there’s a Full Moon cutting across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac, urging you to get real about your next steps.
You may spend more time around other people who inspire you. Global connections could feature strongly in your life, so accept any invitations that move you beyond your own four walls and out into the world.
If you’re a true Sun Cancer, you have a vivid imagination and this is an excellent time to learn more, be curious and feed your soul and spirit.
The only proviso is that you could feel quickly disappointed or disillusioned if things don’t work out for you. The period around the 14th to the 17th could prove pivotal in this respect.
Try not to be hard on yourself if you see other people flying high. Learn to appreciate your path in life and know that whatever journey you’re on, there will always be times when life looks greener on the other side.
Mars On The Move
There’s another important planetary shift this month as action planet Mars finally leaves air sign Gemini after seven months. Mars entered Gemini and the most hidden sector of your horoscope in August 2022. This is where Mars turned retrograde in the last two months of 2022 and the first half of January 2023.
Mars in Gemini can be a productive transit for you when it comes to writing, journalling and processing your inner voice. The down side of Mars in Gemini is that you may have been too hard on yourself as Mars represents anger and Gemini turns your attention inward.
If you’ve been dealing with a personal issue or there have been problems caring for someone close, you may now be ready to let go and move on. The 16th could be significant in this respect, when Mars moves out of its shadow phase. This is potentially an emotional time in the month.
Also, the 25th is key when Mars finally leaves Gemini and enters your star sign Cancer where it will remain until May 20th. Mars is only in your star sign once every two years and this can be a motivating, go-getting force.
Mars rules passion and action, drive and ambition. Sometimes, it takes Mars’ anger to get you fired up and ready to rock and roll. Leap into the driving seat of life once Mars is on your side.
Aries Season
Also, there’s a lot going on at the peak of your horoscope throughout March and this is where you could experience some luck and good fortune. This is because the biggest and best planet Jupiter is in Aries and your career and vocation sector.
Plus, on the 2nd, Jupiter teams up with the planet of relating, Venus, linked to love and money. Then, on the 28th, Jupiter teams up with talk planet Mercury, a symbol of good news.
On both occasions, you’re wise to aim to get noticed. Being around the right people could boost your profile and position in life. Trust and have faith that things will work out for you and actively engage with your next steps. Aries rules your status and reputation too.
Your career and vocation sector is super turbo-charged once Mercury enters Aries on the 19th, the Sun enters Aries on the 20th, the day of the Equinox. And, immediately, there’s a New Moon in Aries on the 21st, a symbol of new beginnings.
This astrology could awaken new ideas and opportunities for you regarding your career and vocation. Dust off your ambition, get on track with where you’re heading and why. Have a strong purpose or mission for your life and tap into the side of your nature that has leadership potential.
You’re one of the cardinal star signs and can take the lead when you need to. This may be in a business role. Or, perhaps as the head of a large family. It could be at your church or in your community, wherever you have people around you who need your kindness, loving care and guidance.
The more seeds you sow after the New Moon on the 21st, the more chance you have of something taking root, growing and flourishing. Not all seeds come to fruition.
Yet, without sowing seeds, you won’t discover which seeds are worth nurturing and which are going nowhere as the year progresses. Plant some new possibilities in your life.
Saturn Enters Pisces – March 7
Saturn is the planet of rules and regulation, authority and responsibility, discipline and boundaries. Since December 2017, Saturn has been in Capricorn and Aquarius, its two signs of rulership. Saturn rules with a firm hand during this period.
This month, Saturn moves into Pisces, the last star sign and an emotional water sign, which is unknown territory for the planet representing boundaries. Pisces is where the ego dissolves and you encounter the vast universe, the one-ness of life.
Will the unreal become real as fantasy, the imagination and the impossible become possible? Or, will Saturn bring structure and form to Pisces’ realm, e.g. the sea, drugs, the media, spirituality? The last time Saturn was in Pisces was 1993-1996 and this time around, Saturn remains in Pisces until 2026.
Saturn moves into Pisces and the sector of your horoscope which rules travel and study, the bigger picture in life. You may be considering emigration or a move abroad. Or, perhaps you want to take a sabbatical or gain new qualifications.
This could coincide with a change of plan or the realisation that one dream may not happen. Remember that Saturn rules endings as well as commitment. You commit to a 2-3 year course of study or you recognise what’s not working out. Either way, it’s a good time to make key decisions.
Pluto Enters Aquarius – March 23
The slowest-moving planet Pluto changes star sign this month and moves into Aquarius. Pluto is the planet of power & transformation, loss & endings. The last time Pluto changed star sign was 2008 when it entered Capricorn, the sign of big business, coinciding with a financial crash.
It will take Pluto eighteen months before it’s established in Aquarius, the star sign linked to technology, equality and the collective, where it will remain until 2043.
As Pluto’s a generational planet, the themes may not resonate with you immediately. Yet, it’s helpful to note where Pluto is strong in your horoscope and where there may be a theme of transformation, loss or deep psychological change.
Pluto’s been moving through Capricorn and your relationship sector. A marriage or long-term relationship may have ended under these powerful stars. Or, perhaps you ended up in a partnership where there was an imbalance of power as Pluto’s linked to domination and control. Alternatively, you may have forged some powerful partnerships in your life that can never be broken.
Pluto’s move into Aquarius highlights your joint finance sector so shift your focus to money, investments and your future security. If you’re a typical Sun Cancer, you hold on tight to money and security. Pluto here could change that.
It’s not just about money, however, but energy, metaphysics and the esoteric realm. Pluto was God of the Underworld and Aquarius represents the part of your horoscope that’s to do with all things hidden, even taboo. You might take a leap of faith into the unknown and choose to explore hidden or secret knowledge on a deeper level.
