CANCER (21 June-22 July)
Communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in your opposite sign of Capricorn on Monday 19th December and remains on go slow until January 8th 2017.
Capricorn rules your relationship sector so you might be reconnecting with people from your past or for one reason or another missing the one you love. Certainly there’s a wistful feel about love and relationships now whether you have one foot in the past or you’re feeling particularly emotional or sentimental.
You are one of the most caring signs of the zodiac. No doubt this year your Christmas list will include plenty of opportunity to make other people happy and you will want to nurture and nourish your 1-to-1’s.
Don’t go overboard however and do be aware that with Mercury on go slow, this highlights misunderstandings. Let things be a little, kick back and don’t worry overly whether everyone is having the best time.
Christmas Day itself, December 25th, has a community feel to it whether you’re celebrating at a big family event or you’re doing your bit for others (again!). Someone might treat you with an expensive present this year and certainly both money and love will be in full flow, hopefully in your direction.
The big Christmas astrology could bring some surprises however as the Jupiter-Uranus opposition lights up your home and family on the one hand and your work and career on the other.
Saturn is the planet pulled in to the pattern and Saturn is your partner planet. There might be changes to your partner’s job this year or a big announcement that has a knock on effect within the family. A new arrival perhaps or the possibility of moving and living elsewhere.
Keep your options open for now and if you’re the one who’s feeling restless or unsettled, talk to others especially if you’re in need of reassurance or advice.
The period between Christmas and New Year feels productive for your 1-to-1’s and the New Moon on December 29th could be an extra special moment for love, partnership and connection.
For some, this is a time when you’re either abroad or you’re actively thinking what next and ready to plan a holiday or trip to visit family. This is thanks to action planet Mars’ move into your fellow water sign Pisces on December 19th where it remains for the next six weeks.
Even if you’re not planning a big adventure, it’s an ideal time to tap into your fertile imagination and allow yourself to dream. You also would benefit from seeking inspiration, something that takes you beyond the everyday.
This peaks after Christmas and perhaps you’re more than ready to move away from the domestic sphere and take yourself off somewhere different. Expand your horizons, turn to art, books, film for inspiration and see in New Year’s Eve in the way that suits you best.
The Mars/Neptune vibe on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day is ideal for romance and/or celebrating with wine and song.
