Book Reviews: Venus Signs, Karmic Dates & Momentary Mates

Valentines Day is almost upon us and what better way to celebrate the day of love than with a review of two recent astrology books that are based on love and written by Jessica Shepherd from Moonkissd Astrology.

Some of you may already know Jessica’s writing as she produces regular articles on the New and Full Moons in her lovely lyrical and personal style. If you want to find out more, check out her website: www.moonkissd.com or Jessica’s Facebook page.

Venus Signs

The first book for review is entitled Venus Signs: Discover Your Erotic Gifts & Secret Desires Through Astrology. Venus is the Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and relationships and discovering all about your Venus sign can be incredibly revealing when it comes to your love life and your love style.

The book is split into 12 chapters, 1 chapter for each of the 12 Venus signs, Aries through to Pisces. The book is very comprehensive and yet very readable as each chapter is split into smaller sections with enticing sub-titles, such as Your Love Element, Your Love Charms, Your Love Goddess, Your Erotic Strength & your own personal Venus Mantra.

There are practical tips and new ideas for each Venus sign, suggesting what you might enjoy when it comes to love and sensuality. Plus advice on any potential challenges for your love sign and how best to relate to your lover depending on their Venus sign. My Venus is in Scorpio and Jessica’s interpretation was spookily accurate and it gave me lots to think about on my personal love journey.

Karmic Dates & Momentary Mates

I love the title for Jessica’s second book: Karmic Dates & Momentary Mates: The Astrology of the Fifth House. The book came about because of a dream of karmic connections and in it Jessica explores those relationships which are not meant to be lifelong and yet offer a special gift.

The book distinguishes between soul mates and karmic mates and refers to the 5th house in astrology, the house of love affairs. Yet the 5th house also rules joy and creativity and knowing more about your 5th house can help you discover who and what makes you feel most alive. It’s where you channel your passion.

This book tells more stories through Jessica’s work with clients, her own personal experiences and learning from her friends. For me this is where Jessica excels in her writing as she writes beautifully and very personally. Because of this you receive her wisdom and insight on a deep level. Jessica is someone who has a real understanding of human behaviour and our shared interconnectedness with life and the universe.

This book explores the meaning of planets and signs in the 5th house in-depth and again there’s a wealth of information that will help you gain greater insight into your own love & relationship stories.

I can highly recommend both books to you. If you click on either book image above, it will take you to my Amazon page in the UK. I hope you’ll buy them and enjoy them in honour of the Goddess of Love. Happy Valentines!
