Aries (21 March-19 April)
Your ruling planet Mars remains in your opposite sign of Libra throughout February and although it’s slowing down, it’s still moving in the right direction. The focus is on love and relationships and any person you partner with in life.
Mars isn’t strong in Libra as this is the sign of compromise and taking other people into consideration. Mars’ nature is self-oriented, fast, direct and enjoys conflict. So you may find you have to learn important lessons about relating or you need to be willing to try out a new strategy, e.g. put others before yourself or practise active listening.
This month is an important month for love as it’s the only month until June where both Mars, your ruler, and Venus, your partner’s ruler, are direct, i.e. moving forward. There’s a chance for better negotiation or for working things out between the two of you. This may concern a personal relationship but it could indicate a professional relationship as Venus is currently in Capricorn, the sign that rules your work and career.
If it is about a work partnership, it’s important to realise that you’re not as strong as you might like to be and perhaps you’re learning that you have to let other people take the lead or rely on other people more than usual. The best way this scenario can play out is that you have an agent or someone at work, a female who’s on your side and will help you make progress with your own work or position. You may learn with Mars in Libra that together you’re stronger and working as a team facilitates success.
On the love front, Valentine’s weekend looks hot with a glorious Full Moon in Leo on Valentines Day itself, the 14th February. Leo rules love affairs and it’s the sign that likes to feel special, craves attention and wants to be adored. It’s a great day for a first date and if you’re married or in a relationship, drop hints that you would like to make this Valentines Day a very special day.
Whether you’re in or out of love, the weekend of the 15th/16th is great for socialising, get-togethers and having fun. The emphasis is on sociable air signs, Libra and Aquarius, so there’s a theme of being with other people, group events, networking and not going solo. Reach out to others this month and spread your net wide.
This is also a Mercury retrograde month and Mercury, the communication planet, is on go slow from the 6th to the 28th. Remember it’s always important to back up your data before Mercury starts it’s backward motion through the zodiac and remember that it’s always wise to double check all dates and urgent correspondence rather than ‘hoping’ everything’s going to work out fine. Travel too may fall prey to delays or last-minute changes so be prepared if you’re going on a long journey and give yourself plenty of time to get from A to B rather than relying on a quick dash to get to wherever you’re heading.
Mercury spends most of this retrograde period in the sign of Aquarius ruling friends, groups and your social interests. So it’s these areas of life where there are more likely to be misunderstandings. Be patient if you find that someone’s gone quiet on you or you’re confused about a friend’s behaviour. Wait and see what the end of the month brings when Mercury turns direct as this is the time to have a heart-to-heart and sort out any issues between you.
Where money’s concerned, this remains a slow time for you whether you’re paying off debts or working hard to turn your money fortunes around. Conserve your cash rather than spending it wildly and stay on top of documentation and financial arrangements, especially with Mercury up to its tricks this month.
The 11th and 19th are the most important days to double check money matters and safeguard your cash. In addition, with the Sun entering Pisces and your hidden sector on the 18th, factor in some quiet time and don’t take on too much this month if you can help it. Your time will come at the spring equinox next month when the Sun moves into your sign of Aries.
Finally, there is one major aspect in February which involves Jupiter in Cancer, ruling your home and family life, square to Uranus in your sign of Aries on February 26th. This is a repeat of a planetary aspect that took place last August 2013 and it repeats one more time over Easter 2014. It may bring changes that you weren’t expecting but with Jupiter strong in Cancer, there’s the prospect of positive change as Jupiter rules hope and faith.
