Aquarius (20 January – 18 February)
2015 begins with a bang as action planet Mars in your sign of Aquarius opposes Jupiter in Leo on New Year’s Day. When you have Mars in your sign, this is busting with energy and an ambitious start to the new year helps you welcome in 2015 in style.
Mars and Jupiter together are adventurous risk-takers and two planets that are urging you to live life to the full. Jupiter represents both opportunity and freedom and in your opposite sign of Leo this is good news for some romantically whilst others may be making a bold decision to move on.
Mars remains in your sign of Aquarius until the 12th and you have no reason to hold back but instead set your intentions for the year ahead and go for what you want. Put the focus on you and fulfil your own wants and needs. Goal-setting and list-making can work wonders this year and you have the stamina to set important plans in motion.
The first weekend of the year is potentially tetchy as there’s a powerful Full Moon growing in the heavens which is exact on Monday 5th. This Full Moon cuts across the Cancer/Capricorn axis of your chart so this is about your work and health and ultimately your well-being. Service and sacrifice are key themes of this axis and it taps into your humanitarian nature.
However, this is a special Full Moon as it links in to the Uranus-Pluto square which has dominated the heavens for some time. Uranus is your modern ruling planet and it’s currently in Aries and your communication sector. Uranus and Pluto clash with the Sun in Capricorn on Saturday 3rd and this is why arguments or disagreements are likely.
It feels a decisive Full Moon and it’s important to recognise that whatever you decide or commit to is likely to stick. The Uranus-Pluto theme is ‘out with the old and in with the new’ so you may be ready to let go of someone or something that no longer serves you. It’s not an easy energy but it’s clearing the way to free up space so you can do the things you really want to do.
New love is on the cards this month as Venus, the love planet, joins Mars in Aquarius on the 3rd where she remains until the 27th. If you’re looking for love, there’s no reason to hold back and as the lovers of the heavens are both in your sign from the 3rd-12th, crack on. Join a dating agency, look at a friend in a new light, ask for introductions, boost your social life, whatever it takes and fits for you.
Venus in your own sign boosts your popularity so expect a sociable month and this is good news if you’re promoting your own business or keen to attract followers or fans. When Venus is in your sign, it’s the perfect time to focus on your image and appearance and how others see you. When you look good, you feel good so do whatever’s pleasurable for you and make the most of your assets.
The 13th and 14th are especially lively for you when first Venus and then Mercury connect with your planet Uranus in a helpful aspect. This is great for dating, making new friends and having fun. Your traditional ruler Saturn is also in a fire sign, the sign of Sagittarius, and in fact, the fire signs are loaded in the first half of 2015.
The fire signs rule your 3rd, 7th and 11th houses, the ‘people’ houses of your chart so this is prime time to make new friends, catch up with old friends, join a new group or club either on or offline and find your tribe. Being with people of like minds inspires you and being around people who are positive and have a fun sense of humour enlivens your everyday lifestyle.
There are also two New Moons in your sign of Aquarius and this is unusual. The first falls on January 20th and there’s a second mid-February. New Moons are perfect for new beginnings, sowing seeds, launching new projects and in your sign of Aquarius this is about you, your personal goals and how others see you. It would be the perfect time to launch a website, start a blog or use social media to get your message across.
However, timing is the key to your success because on the 21st the day after the New Moon, Mercury, the planet of communication, turns retrograde in your sign and remains on go slow until February 11th. This is classically a period of communication chaos when you can experience delays and have to wait for other people. It’s a time to slow down the pace and be patient and know that once Mercury picks up speed again new information will come to light. Be sure to back up important documents before the 21st and double check significant dates and meetings.
Your thinking will intensify with Mercury on go slow in your sign and at times you may feel that you’ve lost your way. Keep exploring and reflect upon and review your situation. This is a powerful start to the year for you and if you use the timing to your benefit, you can achieve great things. The ideas you generate and the seeds you sow before the 21st can grow and come to fruition late February and early March.
Finally, money matters are also due a review this month and it’s important to ‘get real’ where cash is concerned especially from the 15th-20th. Pay close attention to your finances and don’t let other people take charge if you’re not sure what they’re doing. The fog clears mid-to-late February but it’s important to be realistic about cash rather than live in a fantasy world. You may also find that your values begin to shift and what was important with regard to money or a materialistic lifestyle no longer matters as much as it used to.
