Aquarius (20 January – 18 February)
Everything is set up to propel you forward at fast speed as 2016 begins but even though you might know where you’re ready to take action, you can’t get results as quickly as you would like.
There are two planetary reasons for all the excitement. Firstly communication planet Mercury enters your sign of Aquarius on the 2nd and the following day on the 3rd action planet Mars enters Scorpio and your career and vocation sector. Together the focus is firmly on goals and aims, ambition and achievement.
Set your intentions, draw up your New Year resolutions and think big but then wait and see what comes next.
This is because of events on the 5th when first Mercury and Mars clash in the heavens indicating an argument, a fall out and secondly Mercury turns retrograde on the 5th and until the 25th, Mercury is in retreat. Plus it moves back into Capricorn on the 8th, the sign before yours.
This halts progress and the timing is off to go full steam ahead. Instead, the astrology indicates that for some reason or another you’re not ready for action or you need to prepare more fully. Sometimes when Mercury’s on go slow, you can’t get hold of the people who matter or important correspondence gets delayed or held up.
You might find you have a crisis of confidence and it’s inner motivation that’s lacking. Either way don’t give yourself a hard time and instead look at what you can do to help free up the situation.
This may include tying up loose ends or cutting ties that free up your time and energy. There is a theme of endings in your chart even though it’s the first month of the year and it looks as if you would be more productive finding out what needs to end or close before you start afresh. If you have an incomplete deadline or an unfinished project, turn your attention here.
Plus for some, this is about communication and saying the things that have been left unsaid. If you know you’re holding on to past resentments or you feel annoyed about what someone said or did recently, then either let this go or speak your mind.
If you do speak up, what you say is likely to be final so bear this in mind. If you know that you’d be better off without someone in your life, again this fits the symbolism of this month’s powerful astrology.
Plus there is a theme of forgiveness and giving which runs throughout your chart this month. Whether you decide you want to help others either emotionally or financially, notice who or what crops up in your life on or around the 8th-15th. You might not be able to ignore a situation that’s close to home or out in the world and you want to do what you can to make a difference. Your compassion and caring can be accessed easily now.
The focus returns to you and your own goals and aims once the Sun enters your sign of Aquarius on the 20th and this is the turning point in the month for you. Deal with the past, help where you can, prepare yourself fully and then focus on your personal life and what you want for you.
Action planet Mars will remain in Scorpio and your work and career sector for an unusually long time in 2016 because Mars is retrograde from mid-April to late June. This is the year to focus on your ambitions and to be powerful in your pursuit of your chosen career or your vocational goals.

There’s a powerful Full Moon in the heavens on the 24th which cuts across the Aquarius/Leo axis. Full Moons are a time of celebration when emotions are heightened and this Full Moon is important for your 1-to-1 relationships. It might be a time when you see your personal situation clearly and it’s a good date to trust your intuition in making a key relationship decision.
When it comes to love, you’re focused on the future and a romance that’s enjoyable in the present day alone isn’t enough for you. You want a commitment or a common goal. A relationship will only work now if you’re with someone who you can see a future with.

On the 23rd, Venus enters Capricorn and the most hidden sector of your chart. This again turns your attention inward and it will take another few weeks before you’re ready to declare your affections.
This may indicate that you’re coming to terms with a new relationship situation or a new stage or chapter in your love life. Either way don’t feel you have to rush into anything if you’re not ready. Be bold about your love decisions but most importantly take care of your heart.
